Thank you, am so cross as had just got back in the swing of things but my foot is soooooo sore it it is quite silly! However i am assured that a couple of weeks rest will be all that is needed - hopefully!
2019, move forward with positivity! I am the opposite of Eyeore :rotfl:

Well from having been quite determined over the last couple of weeks I have now got a stress fracture in my left foot! I think it is the shock for my poor unfit body!

So I have to dip out for a couple of weeks so just wanted to wish everyone all the best, keep up the good work!

That's such a shame Eyeore, hope it gets better soon. You will need to have a look at the causes and see what you can do to prevent this worsening or happening again, do you have good running shoes?

    Get better soon Eeyore!

I'm very pleased with myself tonight. I went out even though it was cold, windy and raining, and I did the 25 minutes :D.

    Week 6 all done!

... and rightly so CupofChai you should be very proud of yourself.

    Well done

It's presently hammering it down here, so I will not be going out today unless it improves significantly.

ETA Later the same day; a gap in the rain clouds so that's me done Week 4 Run 3. I feel like such a wimp - it really didn't feel any easier than the first or second attempt, despite having done this only a few weeks ago. I agree with that quote, it really is a battle of wills:
Running is nothing more than a series of arguments between the part of your brain that wants to stop and the part that wants to keep going.

Onwards and upwards to week 5 on Tuesday.

    Aww that's pants Eyeore :(

Hope it gets better soon and doesn't knock you all out of whack. I'm sure you'll be fine though! Get well soon! :)

Get well from me too Eyeore!

Have now managed a to run 4k in 37 mins so am working on squeezing in an extra k in somewhere lol! Not been well all week but managed to maintain the jogging (made me feel better!) so am doing a couple of jogs when I increase the speed and a couple where I jog at the slower speed but just keep going for longer. I will do 5k in around 40 mins - eventually ;)

Did week 4 run 1 this morning, managed it but I am aching now.

Battled big-time with the part of my brain that wanted to stop.

Never realised it could be so argumentative.

It even tried to be clever, telling me that I don't need to learn to run long distances, I could just keep going with run, walk, run, walk, etc.

Mine's just the same; like a really argumentitive little brat, telling me I don't need to run for 20 minutes anyway. 'So what if you only run half way and walk the rest, who's going to know?'

Well I was planning to go out tonight and start on Week 7, I like to try and do Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays as have been trying to get into a routine of going out to run to help make sure I do it...

... but my legs are knackered today from the weekend! I really don't want to break my routine but I don't think I can go out tonight! Think I'm just going to have to see how I am tomorrow and try to go out then instead, even though that means I'll probably have to do two days in a row.
  • Well, my extra 2 Week 4 run plan got scuppered...iPod decided to play escalation with me and delete Week 4 altogether!

So I tried Week 5 run 1...and it was OK :) Run 2 tomorrow!
