Went out again today and did 20mins it definitely felt a bit easier than the first time. Need to pick up listening to the podcasts again but I have enjoyed the peace and quiet of my last two runs. Does every one else prefer running to music or without?

I always listen to music but instead of the fast tempo stuff I started with I've found I prefer slower music much better. A lot more calming. I tried running without music once but wasn't keen. Might give it another go though tomorrow.

On another note, I've been very naughty this week. Haven't run since Saturday, instead I've chosen the comfort of bed over getting out. Feeling very guilty now. Need to make a determined effort to get out there tomorrow!

Started week 6 yesterday, run 1 went ok even though I think I tried to go a bit too fast to begin with. I am still ridiculously slow, seriously I'm sure I can walk faster than this but the motion of jogging is so much more tiring!

I prefer to listen to music, when I used to go to the gym I had to have my music too. I like to listen to fast hard music when doing cardio work as I feel it helps me to push on and do more. I'm managing with the music in Couch to 5K whilst I do the plan but really it's a bit too mild for me :p.

I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling like I go at snails pace. I look at other people running and they look like they're zooming along, and I think if I looked at myself I'd probably look like one of those athletes who do the very fast walking in the olympics! :o
  • Most of the music on the podcast is awful :/

Is that on the NHS one? I never used that, I downloaded a different app. What's the music like?
  • Totally generic pop type stuff, lol!

I think it's been recorded just to use for this and isn't actual released songs by real bands and artists. It's sort of like an imitation of the sounds of different kinds of music you'd hear on mainstream radio. Like, there's a "girl-group pop song", a "RnB song", a "soft rock-y song".

It's all very mild and inoffensive, I suppose they're trying to not put anyone off and appeal to everyone. But that doesn't suit me who likes to do cardio exercise to the Prodigy :D.

I have started having dreams about running

The runs are always easy and I run for ages and ages

    Not like real life

    Am I normal?
