Well done elfen on your first run, and to everyone else who's been running.

Also teachergirl, I'd be pleased even though your distance was the same - maybe you were going to fast during your 28 minutes? Personally I'd rather go slower but complete the distance :)

This is my fifth day of not running :o But honestly the weather is rubbish - rain on its own wouldn't be too much of a problem, but combined with wind it's lethal. I did attempt to run but my ears were killing me after about 3-mins so I stopped.

I'm praying that I won't have slipped back to week 4/5 standards by the time I do eventually go back out! Hopefully tonight...

    Well done Mumto2:T

Week 6 run 1 done this morning. I found it very hard to motivate myself after my 20 min run on Sunday. I was so amazed I had managed the run I sort of thought I had achieved my target but obviously not- still a long way to go!

It was good to get back to intervals again. I am finding the running easier and am now determined to stick to it. I feel so much better after a run.

Good luck everyone else out today - at least we can't complain about the heat anymore - it is freezing here today.:)

    :T Well done Primmer....

and you too Cookiemum...I am really quite scared about my attempt at 20 mins running tomorrow..(wk 5 run 30..I think I might have to not think about it till I actually go otherwise I might find any excuse not to go out...I think it's because I have been soo pleased (and a little stunned) that I have managed to run all the runs so far ok (well ok with a few aches and lots of very red faces :D)

Right off to bed now...night all x

Morning everyone. I managed week 3 run 2 today.(G28K) I was determined to do it properly today and finish. So I ran really slowly and made sure I kept in zone 2 of my heart monitor. It was probably more like bouncy power walking than jogging and it did feel quite easy. I am going to try and run without my heart monitor on Sunday so that I do not have to worry about the fact that my heart is beating so fast I might just explode:D
I also went on the fens because I think it is more motivating than the roads. Once I have started I either have to keep going or turn back the way I came, there are no short cuts.

Well done to cookiemum and primmer.:j

    How did it go 69chick?

cazmcf where abouts do you live? The weather has been grim here this week. It looked like it was going to thunder and pour on me at anytime.

Went for my run this afternoon and although it nearly killed me I did it yay...I cannot believe that I ran (albeit slowly) for 20 whole minutes!!!! I really didn't think I would do it, it was tough but I just kept thinking keep going a bit longer etc...

only thing is on the way home there was a poor young girl collapsed on the path with lots of people around her, their phones weren't working so I said I would go to my house to call an ambulance and then pegged it home, was absolutely shattered and could barely speak when I got in so it was hard to make myself understood on the phone!! anyway luckily someone had managed to ring in already.....

I know I am a long way from running 5k right now, but I feel fab!! am glad though that my next run will be back to intervals :o but now I know I can do it it's a great feeling :)

Well done 69chick, that is fab. I hope the girl who collapsed was okay.

I've just done Wk2 Run1. A little late as we've been on holiday. I enjoyed it, found it okay and looking forward to the next one.
