Hi everyone, just got back from the airport and weighed ourselves. I have gained just over 5lb in the nine days

Tomorrow will be our first run to try and run it off again

I hope everyone is well, I'm off to catch up on the thread.

Well done Chickvic and welcome home Pink.

I am away with work for the week so will have to wait until next weekend to run again. (no Internet where I am going either!)

Keep up the good work everyone
2019, move forward with positivity! I am the opposite of Eyeore :rotfl:
  • Becks,

I would run in the snow, I would just move onto the edge of the road facing traffic. I would wear a jumper and a wooly hat too..

    ktmjidea,

Stitches...I run with that arm above my head until it goes away...

    Anyone?,

Mrs AO doesn't want to run the Great North Run with me next weekend...anyone?

Week 2 run 1, quite surprised that I could manage the extended running time with no real extra difficulty. But argh there's no way I could run for 20 minutes straight! (Pull yourself together Chai, of course you'll be able to, that's the whole point of doing this).

Does anyone know of a good way/place to plan a route? I tried on Google Maps where I usually find routes to get to places, but couldn't make it work because it just wants me to go from Place A to Place B. I want something where I can make a 5K circle that starts and ends in the same place, and where I can see where the hills are on the map and how steep they are.

You can use www.MapMyRun.com and look for similar routes in your area, from other people.

An alternative would be to map your own route, follow the roads when its easiest, then deselect it to cross roads etc. Its gone a bit weird now as I think it wants you to subscribe/pay etc. But you can still plan the routes etc around that advert that wont close down..

Just completed week 1, run 2. A bit behind as I wanted to get out at the weekend but it just never happened for one reason or another.

The run was much easier than run 2 though so feeling very positive about it at the mo :D

If anyone had told me 5 weeks ago that I would be able to jog for 8 minutes at a time I would have laughed in their faces! :rotfl:

I have been doing couch to 5k for the last few months, I had to stop for a couple of months because of childcare issues but tonight I ran 5k in 29 minutes and 47 seconds - everytime I do it, it gets easier and easier, tonight I wasn't nearly dead afterwards :rotfl:.
