that's a shame, could you do some squats, it's not running but they'll get you out of breath (they are more difficult than you think) and at least it's some sort of fitness trainingThrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
I didn't go out this morning. Woke up and my ankle was very sore. I've decided to go to the gym when I'm on days so I can get some weight training in so I'll try running tomorrow on the treadmill.0

I have a confession
today is my day of rest I don't do any exercise. I had the strangest urge come over me and I decided to get on the treadmill and jog...for fun!
So I did my 5 min warm up, then jogged for 3 mins, walked for 90 secs til I'd jogged for 15 mins  then 5 min cool down. Even shocked my husbandWeek 4 run 2 tomorrow!

Well I've just run Week 7 Run 1 at the gym
Ankle was still niggling though to begin with. I wonder if it's the way I run/move it as I think the less I move it the more it hurts but when I move it properly there's no pain. Strange
Also did some weight lifting after my run. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go and lay down so I don't have to use my arms for the rest of the night0 -

It's entirely possible...your foot's designed to move normally - doing anything else is unnatural and can cause niggles.
I, for instance, have feet that point in at quite a daft angle...on occasions I've tried to "force" them to point in the right direction while I'm running - always end up getting hurt...just rolling with what feels natural is the key. (although I'm working on strengthening my hip with a physio now to try and straighten things out sensibly...)0 -
Week 4 run 2 - almost killed me, sweaty, red faced and sounding like a steam train! Pushed through and finished it though0

When I think about it I remember I had heel pain years ago and I think that was the problem then. Just a matter of not walking properly.
Anyway, I'm going to stop talking about my ankle now as I don't want any mods to think I might be seeking medical advice and shut the thread0 -

Well Done! :T
Don't talk to me about sweaty and red faced though. I was literally the colour of a beetroot today and I've never known sweat to drip off me so much. I must have looked SO attractive! :rotfl:0 -
Apologies all for dropping out for a couple of weeks, lots going on and lost the will I think!
Went back to wk 2 run 1 last night and actually quite enjoyed it, did the jog at a slightly slower pace on the treadmill 6.5km and that seemed to be much better for me so hopefully will stick with it now!
You are all doing so well!2019, move forward with positivity! I am the opposite of Eyeore :rotfl:0 -
