Week 2 run 1 done - moved on a run early because week 1 suddenly disappeared off my iPod and I figured I've been doing lots of other exercise this week. Hard going but I did it, really pleased :)

Quick pop in to say well done to you all! Pink - congrats on finishing! Iammumtoone - nearly fell off my chair laughing about stroking a snake!

Sad to say I haven't been to the gym since the 9th, been away and am now busy with work and family stuff so hope to be back on track next wk.

Having read a few of the recent posts today i wonder whether I have been trying to go too fast on the treadmill. I walk at 5.7 and run at 7.2? Perhaps I should reduce these a bit then I might find it a bit easier?! ;-)
2019, move forward with positivity! I am the opposite of Eyeore :rotfl:

if you run at 7.2 it means you would finish 5K in nearly 26 mins that would be a very good time, even your walking speed would get you finished in 32 mins.

Info from here http://www.surgicalartistrymarathon.com/running-speed-pace-chart.htm I found this chart quite interesting but I am a bit sad like that :o

I started couch to 5k 3weeks ago! On week 3 day 2 as of tomorrow, yesterday I moved into week 3 and I 'ran' the last 3minutes through till the very end so 11minutes I was really pleased with myself. I didn't cover a great deal of ground only about 2.82km for the whole session but I'm trying to focus on just keeping moving!

    Well done pink and chocoholic!

That is interesting thanks for that. I might try and reduce the run speed a bit when I go on Monday and see how I get on!

Love the chart, I'm also sad like you. Unfortunately my treadmill (Kettler) is in km rather than mph, do you know of a similar one in km

Wow so much good news you've all bee busy today!
Anyway got to 12 minutes and thought I might make it to 20, got to 20 and then thought, go for it. get to 25. Got to 25 and thought I'll make 28 I'm sure, got to 28 and thought 2 mins to go and I'm at the big THREE O.

:T Wel done, I know that feeling it is such a mental battle; when I did twenty minutes the other day kept asking myself what do I have to gain from stopping for just a minute or a few seconds and how bad would I feel if I did stop.
Couldn't believe what I saw once I had finished the run some bloke was taking his snake out for some fresh air and sunshine

Having initially read this as a euphemism for something else, the rest of it near had me in creases; especially that you stopped to give it a stroke.
Kiwi the pain is awful Sometimes but that is muscle forming which will help you through the next run:)

Finished the couch to 5k tonight :j feels so good. I'm going to continue with 30 minute runs for a few weeks but work on my speed so that I cover more ground. So I'll be sticking around if you don't mind :D

Excellent work Ms Princess and we would be most pleased to have you stick around for your support and encouragement!! :j

I have decided not to run today to give my legs a break and week six doesn't look too arduous. However it's a bit of a worry now, after having stuck to the program and routinely doing all the runs its not likely that I will be able to keep up the usual regime for the coming couple of weeks and stuff planned for this weekend means I won't be able to get out to run again until next Tuesday.

Very well done Ms Chocoholic! :T:T

Not said congrats to you, yet Pink, for finishing. CONGRATS! :D:j

I ran today but it wasn't a very good one. I had to stop a couple of times. Maybe it was a bad idea, I was feeling tired and irritated before I went but I thought the run would do me good. It just made me feel worse, tbh.

I'm still stuck at 2miles. I'm yet to finish Week 6 Run 3. I'll try again on Saturday though. I think I always run better first thing in the morning before work, rather than after it.

    Well done lillian:T

Eyeore, nothing wrong with slowing down, it helps with nuscle growth :)

Well done Erinnire and welcome :j

Kiwi, is there anyway you could fit it in with your plans? I was at my nephews birthday party on Sunday and no-one minded me running off (pun intended:cool:) for 30 minutes.

1940s gal you are doing really well, the runs will be building your stamina:) i've found that I run better at about 6pm for some reason, strange isn't it.

No run here today as I have just got home. I will run tomorrow.

Good luck to all on their next run :A
