Care to share any tips about increasing lung capacity Eyeore; I do get out of breath when running, maybe this is something I need.

This was my biggest problem when I started running, I got so out of breath the longest I ran for was 1 minute then it got less after that.

I've found my breathing has definitely improved lately so I'm assuming it's a sign that my lung capacity is improving also. I'm now on week 4 of C25K but was exercising regularly before that.

I think you just have to take it slowly and it will come with time.

I also read that when you're running try breathing from your belly and not your chest. Also, try and hold your breath for two paces. It's hard but it comes naturally after a while.

I have found the begintervals but I cannot download them on my iPad or iPod :(. Am I going to have to download them onto my desktop first?

Done it :). I had to download the Podrunner app and it was all on there, with loads of others that are far too energetic!!

    Hi all
Sorry I've let the side down I went away for a week and did lots of walking but no running, and now I'm using the heat as an excuse not to start up again. Must try harder. Anyone feel like motivating me with a kick up the backside? :rotfl:

Life got in the way of my first serious attempt Week 1 Run 1 yesterday, so I made an extra effort and rearranged my evening and did it tonight instead. :T

I was a bit  after having done the sixth run to hear Laura say that there were still two more runs to do. However, I pushed the boundary and settled in to quite a comfortable pace and was chuffed to bits at the end to hear her congratulate me for having run for a full eight minutes.

All being well I will do the second run on Sunday.

    Well done kiwi and imashoppingaddict

We completed week 5 run 1 today, it went well, dd is amazed at herself and I'm very proud of her:)

We will run again on Sunday, hopefully to build up enough stamina for the last run of the week.

Week one, run two done. :T

I found it a bit harder this time; my legs were like jellyfrom the start, due to having done a couple of hours of speed gardening previously. I think it will be an early night, I'm shattered now.

Well done kiwi saver:j you pushed through it and you finished it.

We did run two of week 5 today, that is a 5 minute walk then an 8 minute run then 5 minute walk followed by another 8 minute run. This programme really does work :T dd never thought she would be able to do it and I was having a battle with my head before hand but we did do it!

We won't run again until Wednesday morning now, to give our muscles time to heal and develop before running for 20 minutes

Well done Pink Princess, good luck with your big run on Wednesday. I find it quite impossible to imagine myself being anywhere near there in four weeks from now.
