I did my 3 mins yesterday, quite happily as well, I was so proud, is it wrong that I phoned my mum to tell her.
Planning the next run on Tuesday

Hi, I am thinking of starting C5K. I downloaded it a long time ago but have never used it. I am fat, run like an elephant, have very large boobs (that I can't find a decent sports bra for) and haven't run since school over 25 years ago!! Am I mad???

Just come back from a week on holiday where I didn't do any runs but did lots & lots of fell walking so I hope I won't have got too unfit. I think I'll redo week 1 though especially as it's sooo hot!
Pink I'm so sorry to hear your news :(

  • Hi everyone,
I am using Get Running app paid for on my Ipad doing week one continuously over the last ten weeks? Thankfully the app lets me redo weeks rather than try to train beyond my capacity.
I went late this evening 9pm!! to The Field a 2000+step walk, ran 5x? out of 8 but needing to recover between runs., walked back another 2,500 steps home so 7000+steps in all.
I'd been procrastinating something rotten earlier this week and denied my body the exercise bad bad bad. Tonight at least I got out. Had the Field to myself with the Field next door to try out, bar a couple of runners with the same ideas.

  • Did week 3 run 1 this morning. Remembered the fan but was still boiling hot. But enjoyed it nonetheless!!

Looking forward to Wednesdays run now.

Well I did my last day of week 3 on the treadmill and it was fine. I think I'm going to go to the gym and do it that way for now because my barefoot trainers aren't giving me enough support when I'm running outdoors. Thought they were but they're not. I'm off to Ikea Nottingham on Saturday and there's a Decathlon near there so I'm going to go in and have a look at some proper running shoes.

Week 4 Day 1 tomorrow. Scared about running a full 5 minutes :o

No not mad, I am nearer thirty years out of school. :D

If it seems a bit daunting, perhaps you could join me on Begintervals - even if you didn't fell up to doing the running just yet you might enjoy the walking. I've only done 1 & 2 once each and moving onto No.3 tomorrow and already feel much more confident about starting C25k proper.

Hello and well done to all those starting out and super well done to those on wk 3 and 4!

I have been doing different exercise to build up my stamina so went for a 7 mile walk on Sunday and half an hour cycle ride last night, will try a run on Wednesday to see how I get on!

Keep up the good work everyone!

Managed day 1 of week 4! Running for a whole 5 minutes :D

I flagged toward the end but it felt good to get it done.

I've just done the third in the series of Begintervals with a big uphill section at the start and I also added a couple of extra runs of my own when I was meant to be walking.

Not sure now whether to repeat this on Thursday or just get on with it and have a crack at Week 1 C25K proper.
