Who says its World class.........Apple?
Look yeah its a good housing but it is no better than other phones in many respects.
The camera IS NOT as good as others. The multitasking is not as good as webOS the OS and UI is certainly not better than webOS and i say not as a fan but because it just is. You may not like that but it is. Now buy it and enjoy it but others, please stop getting upset when people say its not all what Apple say it is. It wont conform to what other people want and it is not by far the best phone out there. You will over the next few months see phones that are going to better than the Evo and iphone but you wont for a long time see an OS and UI as good as webOS and if there is one it will be Palm/HP or Google that do it. I would take some time to get to know webOS as you will see lots more of it.

That's a US only figure.. Global figures show the opposite which Apple showed in the keynote
Plus its comparing an OS with hardware.. take any one android handset and compare it, then we'll see

The handset is poor yes but the OS and UI is far far better than any other OS out there. Now if you refer to the OS as being tosh there where 5 companies after it, and company c was..............? I will give you a hint....it was a company that tried to sue others but didn't touch this one because Palm would of won on lots and lots of IP rights.
As for you thinking it is 'tosh' you have just said what some think of the iphone and you didn't take well to that did you?0 -
Just spoken to Orange - the bloke advised me to return my iPhone and said 3gs will be cheaper in all probability so nothing to lose by returning it.0

As for the better phones coming on the market.......imho there has not been one phone that has "killed" the iPhone to date. Belive it or not im not an Apple Fan boy in the slightest. I use a PC and the iPhone is the only Apple product I own (or did own until I sold it awaiting news on 4) I used to swear by Nokia or Sony Ericsson! Since i've used the iPhone there is not one phone on the market now or in the past few years that has made me wish to change and i've tried many!Hardcore moneysaver0 -

I'm not actually an apple fanboy. I don't have a mac and hate apple. I dislike their philosophies. But the iPhone is a fantastic device which I will support.
Now let me go find a medal for you having 12TB of disk space..
Apple sell iPhone for the mass market. You are a much higher class citizen obviously and are not included in that. Maybe you need to go buy one of those gold plated phones?

i have no loyalty to any company, i buy each device based on it best matching my requirements
i have an ipod classic in my car since the ipod is the only device that can be operated from a VAGs steering wheel controls
i purchased an iphone 3Gs because at the time it best matched my requirements but the market has moved on greatly since then. the iphone is a hugely flawed product, its hopeless at communication compared to a blackberry and has none of the flexibility of a blackberry with storage, it does have a better app store, great games and a better user interface but its far from perfect
do you think gold plating an iphone will fix its flaws?
iphone4 needs to fix a lot of these problems just to catch up with the other competitors0 -

Lets get it clear, the Palm Pre is not that great a handset it is the OS and UI that are better than anything around and yes that includes the iphones OS. I do not disagree that the new iphone looks good and has a cracking display.0 -

The figures quoted were for smartphone sales by operating system. The comparison is perfectly valid in the same way that Windows is a much more popular OS than MacOS. It's not Microsoft's fault that Apple limit the popularity of their computer OS, nor is it the fault of Google, HTC or any othe manufacturer using Android that Apple limit the spread of their phone OS.
The smartphone market is still in its infancy, but it reminds me a lot of the early years of home/personal computing. Back then, Apple gave away a massive market lead to a new OS which was adopted by an open hardware standard supported by a growing number of major manufacturers. I can see history repeating itself.There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

The only major advance is the higher resolution screen. That will be caught up within months IMO.There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
