It's 6pm UK time, 10am their time.0

Ye but thats what Apple are calling it.
They also said the iPhone 4 was the biggest thing to happen to the iPhone since the iPhone was launched. With hindsight, it's more akin to the launch of New Coke or Gerald Ratner's musings on the quality of his merchandise. If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

who knows they might actually launch a new product called the iglove! http://pocketnow.com/thought/humor-will-apple-reveal-an-iglove-on-friday-or-finally-an-irack
by the way they actually hold the patent application for a product called the iglove ! http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/01/02/apple_glove_patent/ so they can speed up the production and make more money by killing two birds with one stonebubblesmoney :hello:0 -
Well if they did launch the iGlove, I'd get one straight away. How cool does that look!0

Rumours: 'Voluntary recall' of affected models, free bumpers for all owners, more dissembling and blaming of the end-user.poppy100 -
More defensive-minded dissembling, blaming other phones and saying they all have the same problem. yawn. I'm off out, doesn't look like anything interesting is going to happen here.poppy100 -
We have been using them at work now for a few days and one of our offices is in a remote part of County Durham, where before we could not get a signal, and even Orange say that there is no way we would ever get a signal there.
Well we all had at least 2 bars today and were able to make calls no problem, we could all replicate the death-grip there, but there was only one dropped call today and we make a lot of calls.
For us it has been a great success with far superior reception to the 3GS and even our trusty old Blackberry's.
I have a HTC Hero and can't get a signal there, so I think when my upgrade comes around in October an iPhone 4 is defiantly what I want.0 -
Looks like free bumpers/cases all round!0

All in all I thought it was very interesting. The whole issue has been blown completely out of proportion. I was holding off buying one, but after that I am now determined to buy one and will start phoning Tesco again.
A few quotes from the speech:- "3GS return rates during this period last year were 6 percent, which was below the industry average. For iPhone 4, it's 1.7%. "
- "0.55% of all iPhone customers have called AppleCare with an antenna issue."
- "Everyone will get a free case. Refund if you bought a Bumper."
