Did you not read apples response?

The phone does not have poor signal reception *sigh*

This media storm has created a frenzy.. it's ridiculous. Everyone who owns the phone is fine with it! The people that aren't just expect perfection from everything..

There is NOTHING wrong with the phones signal lol! Ok so there are less bars when you wrap your hand around the bottom of the device and press.... The signal doesnt change.

Once again - Why would the 3G/3GS show the same problem with the new IOS? Please explain that to me...

I'm so sick of this same topic going over and over... Really can people not talk about anything else? This threads been ruined by people just picking and going over and over the same bad points..

OK, we KNOW there is something possibly wrong which Apple have said will be fixed - Whats more to be said? Move the **** on please! Ty :T:T:T
I was waiting for the iPhone 4 as you know, we watched the lauch 'together'

Sadly mine does have a problem and calling is a huge problem. mine goes down to one bar and even holding it while surfing the 3G and edge go down to that little circle that is slower than walking to the libary to reseach what i am looking at.

I have now sold the phone on ebay and will sit on the 32GB money i got for a 16GB to see how things pan out.

hopefully i will have an iphone 4 in the future that works. if not i will stick with my 3GS.

    Not pleased with apple.

    A few more comparisons;

In exact same spot with same O2 sim

    3Gs with ios4

    Flat on surface

    0.40Mbps down 0.17Mbps up

    Holding it

    0.66Mbps down 0.19Mbps up

    iPhone 4

    Flat

    0.72Mbps down 1.53Mbps up

    Holding in left hand

    0.01Mbps down 0.00Mbps up

    Holding in right hand

    0.59Mps down 1.53Mbps up

As much as it disappoints me to say so, there is a problem.

Yup, however on reading apples statement i held the phone and took notice and the bars do do the same thing (drop) but have no trouble with calls which i was with the 4. conversations were really hard and either end just was getting upset in the end and ending the call. my 3GS is fine on calls in the same place (work/home) and i have only just noticed the bars dropping when i hold it round the bottom.

maybe OS4 is to blame however i also think there is a hardware fault and i wasnt going to pay that money for a phone for apple to just update it so the bars look ok but the call issue still being there.

With no offence to anyone i will leave that to the fanboys and have flogged it now.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like OS4 is to blame. See my post above for comparisons with both iphone 4 and 3Gs both running OS4.

I wish I had found otherwise as I really don't want to return this phone.

Sell it on eBay. you'll get the money for a 32GB. I dont think mine is any different to any other. all the ones i have seen and played with (5) do the same thing.

Hopefully by the time the white ones come out they will have sorted. it.

If not i think i can wait for the next one or maybe go over to HTC. we'll see.

Atm i am £320.00 up from what i was just over a week ago and am paying the same i was on O2 on my new tesco contract.

Like i say i'm just disapointed really.

face time was like using a webcam 5 years ago.

    I can sympathise
i tend to avoid newly released handsets now (well the high end ones anyway)
i remember getting the SE P800 when it was the new kid on the block
terrible buggy phone that never really got sorted
then i had some massive Orange SPV thing that was even worse!
now im happy to let others have the 'glory' of the latest handset until i know its stable

Return the Phone to Apple (30days return) and you will get back your money. Its no point discussing the issue,it will take another 4 months for apple to fix this issue.
