The 2 O/T brands will compete - & a PAC between networks will be needed, both are Ofcom requirements for the merge. Niether can buy out the other out of Everything Everywhere as that means a market leader exists and holds a stronghold, this company will be 50/50 whoever owns what 50%'s in the future.

Backhaul will be provided by MBNL saving 3,T & O millions and dupication will be cut in base stations & leased data lines back to each companies servers.

Coverage is a winner for 3 customers.
If I helped or saved you money - Thank me
If I helped you spend some money - spank me
    If I done both - :lipsrseal me:eek:

    Iphone 4. This changes everything.Again.

I agree with you apple, everything is changed....

1- Im ready to cut my sim into a micro sim because networks are not ready to give me any micro sim so easily..

2- Im ready to hold my Apple Iphone in a different way so that i get full signals without any dropped calls.

3- Im ready to pay extra money for the iphone compared with other smartphones in the market :)

4- Im ready to wait in long queues just because Job Steve cannot provide enough stock in UK inspite of knowing the demand of the phone..

So I decided to change myself and will switch to HTC Desire yet the best smart phone in the market.

    For the time being.....

Nonsense. There are no plans to merge the company for the foreseeable future.

I am no Apple fanboy, in fact I dislike Apple's corporate attitude in general and I am certainly unhappy with the situation at present (despite my real world usage confirming so far it is a non issue)

    However...

1). This is a network issue, the UK networks have been absolutely terrible in relation to the new iPhone. I imagine with the new microsim they have been given free reign to force customers into iPhone contracts by refusing to supply microsims to people who don't want to get tied into lengthy contracts. Perhaps Apple dictating to networks wasn't a bad thing after all, it's not like prices have dropped significantly since o2 lost exclusivity.

2). So far this has been a "non issue" for me but I am certain at some point it will happen. It is inexcusable and must be fixed, bumpers/cases are not a fix.

3). iPhones are not expensive compared to comparable smartphones (the only comparable phone at present is the Evo 4G which isn't available in the UK yet)

4). The only iPhone which didn't have long queues was the 2G and that was because the UK at the time couldn't really stomach paying £269 for a phone AND being tied into a contract (although it was a bargain for those of us that jailbroke and unlocked out of the box :) )

I hope you enjoy your Desire, bit I've found most HTC and Android phones to be a little "agricultural". Functional but lacking the polish and all in one experience of the iPhone.

Why did you ever intend to purchase the iPhone if you know the Desire is the best smart phone?

Couldnt have been easier with O2 thankyou

Storm in a tea cup lmao SOFTWARE UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3- Im ready to pay extra money for the iphone compared with other smartphones in the market :)

    HTC Desire £385.50 + 32GB card £84.99 from a trusted retailer = £470.49
    iPhone 4 32GB = £599

Difference = £128.51 Worth every penny
4- Im ready to wait in long queues just because Job Steve cannot provide enough stock in UK inspite of knowing the demand of the phone..

I was sat at home on the sofa when the UPS driver turned up at 11:40am
So I decided to change myself and will switch to HTC Desire yet the best smart phone in the market.

Having used the Desire for two weeks and now owning an iPhone 4 I can honestly say the iPhone 4 knocks the socks of the Desire. Once the software gets its update to fix the baseband issue what will all the haters get to diss the iPhone 4 for lmao

It's fast as lightning, the screen is outstanding (even in sunlight) the camera is the best on a mobile device without question, the video recording is superb, imovie is brill, the gyroscope is looking so promising (eliminate: Gun Range) the battery is soooo much better, facetime is great fun & FREEEEEEE! Finally so good to have wireless N, the range on this baby rocks.

Another MAJOR factor is when it comes to music I have always loved my iPod, had one for years and years. Pain in the !!! carrying around my ipod and mobile phone back in the day. To have the iPod and phone together as one is a winning combination! You can't get an iPod on any other phone and the competitions efforts to come up with comparable media players fail! To have the best iPod and the best iPhone as one is killer

Does anyone know what rights you have to return an iphone? I have been waiting 3 months for this and was lucky enough to get one from Vodaphone. If you can call it luck. I hold the phone in my left hand and type the number in with my right as I am right handed. By the time I have entered the number my 4 bars have dropped to 1. If I am in a 2/3 bar zone it goes completely. I tried to do it the other way round but its like writing left handed. I also sometimes swap from one ear to the other when arm becomes tired on a long biz call. Guess what? it cuts out. I have never been so dissapointed with a purchase and am astounded that Jobs says "hold it differently" WHY SHOULD I??? I previously was a big apple fan, the stupid new shuffle that sound like steven hawkins excluded. I have an Imac, an Ipod and a 2nd gen shuffle. My kids have shuffles and another ipod. I really wanted this to be great. Sorry for that rant but I am just so disappointed and back to the original question, before I phone up Voda can anyone tell me what a can or cant do? Is this phone not "fit for purpose"

    I must respond to this.

I find the iPhone 4 to be great but unless Apple fix this issue (and I am not convinced
it's a software issue) I will not buy Apple again.

Yes (barring the touch of death) it's a great phone but this issue is a showstopper, hold it differently won't cut it.

    It must be fixed.

If you still believe its a problem with the metal band around the phone then I suggest you watch this

It was an off the cuff response and been blown out of the water by everyone. Its gonna be fixed with a software update without question! Have you not seen all the 3GS/3G videos showing the same thing after upgrading to iOS4? Are you telling me they have suddenly developed hardware faults too rofl
