Today I had a reality check and decided that I didn't need the additional functionality that the iPhone 4 offered. I went instore and upgraded to Three's 3GS on £25 per month. At the end of the day it would do me fine for the next two years, the 3GS did not turn into a bad phone overnight.

How much for the phone? And did they do any special deals on minutes/texts/data?

As T-mobile have merged with orange, as far I am aware, the tariffs offered by both will be the same. So just take a look at oranges's offerings

    You sure about that?

They were continuing to operate as separate companies and on other phone such as the Desire their offerings are completely different.

"Why is T-mobile?" is a good enough question
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
    Now 20% cooler
