One lil story that's breaking is it would seem as if Tesco ARE gonna have iPhone 4 on Thursday. This comes from a friend who works as a Manager in a Tesco Mobile store. More info as I get it.

Without a Pre Order I suggest you plan on getting up VERY early on Thursday and then im sure you'll get one.
On a seperate point, nice to FINALLY see an official Windows Live Messenger app!!

Do you know any companies that are taking pre order for contract customers?0 -

Quick tip - go for a shop in an unfashionable area. I live in a dowdy West Yorkshire town, can't imagine they'll be kicking the door down on Thursday am to get the new iPhone - most of the people here don't even know what a mobile is :rotfl:0 -
Despite the fact that is doesn't look like there are many improvements, I simply can't wait to get my hands on the new iPhone. Had the 3g for 2 years now, and somehow (without insurance) managed not to break, smash or lose it (despite dropping it several times).
Do I take the plunge and get insurance this time around - and if so can anyone recommend anything cheaper than getting O2's?0 -

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Sorry to shout, but I've already posted on here about insurance. Here's what you do (again):
Check your home contents insurance to see if you have "away from home" or "personal possessions" cover (same thing, different names). The cover is for anything you wear or carry in everyday life in and out of the home. Essentially, it covers the contents of your handbag/briefcase, your jewellery/watches, purse/wallett AND YOUR MOBILE PHONE. I always recommend you phone your insurers and speak to them about the iPhone, so they can confirm cover to you.
If you don't have the cover, ask them for a quote to add it. You probably want a limit of £3,000 to cover everything (you insure for the most you would be wearing and carrying, so think about what you take on holiday with you: clothes, the above items, cameras, etc.) and a "single item limit" of £1,000 (a set can be considered a "single item" so you need to insure the phone, case, cables, extras). When you ask for the quote, make sure they tell you:
1. The annual price of the cover
2. The price up to your next renewal date
3. How much of 2 above is an administration fee (probably £25).
The admin fee is "one off" to cover the cost of changing the policy so if there's anything else you need to update, do it now.
If you want, you can ask for the normal cover and the specify your iPhone too. If you are worried about it, that's the best way to go and if you are doing it at the same time as adding the normal cover, the additional cost is a couple of quid at most.
"Personal Possessions" cover includes "unattended theft". This is where you are in a cafe, put your bag down and go over to the counter to buy your coffee. You come back to find the bag (and phone) have been stolen. PP cover would pay for the bag, contents and phone. Phone insurance would pay nothing.
My 2p:
Mobile phone insurance is a ripoff. It's worse than Payment Protection Insurance. Not only is it expensive; it provides less protection than you probably have in place already. In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
