Thanks for info - it seems that O2 customer services did indeed lie to me on the phone yesterday... poor.

I didn't pre-order.. I reserved.. Does that count?

Also, quote from the reserve email:
"We'll have Specialists ready to transfer your contacts, set up email, and help you get apps so your iPhone is just the way you like it. We can't wait to see you at the store."

Nice to see the different points of view on MicroSIMs from the various providers

Using the kind advice given by others on this forum I have been considering the best way of getting an iPhone 4.

As I am coming to the end of my current Vodafone contract I was considering switching immediately to their 300 min 12 month SIM only deal (via Quidco if possible for an existing customer).

I was then then going to buy an iPhone 4 outright from Apple. Upon purchase I was going to then add the monthly £5 internet (500 MB limit) and then see if Vodafone would give me a MicroSIM.

However, on approaching Vodafone I have been given conflicting advice. On the phone I have been told that I can add the £5 no problem and get a MicroSim from Customer Services. In store I have told I would need to take out an Iphone tariff (now) if I wanted to get a MicroSIM. Given this I don't know the best way to go. I don't want to take out a 12 month SIM only deal only to be told subsequently that I can't get a MicroSIM unless I upgrade to a iPhone tariff.

I was just wondering if anybody had heard anything different from Vodafone or had any thoughts on how best to proceed.

It appears that customer services aren't being kept up to date at times with their own networks. It's probably best to just sit tight and wait until these queries are answered clearly on the various websites, much like O2 have done today with the micro sims today.

Only existing O2 customers will be able to purchase the new iPhone 4 as stocks are limited.

I'm sure the micro sim cards will be available to those who pre-ordered or reserved an iPhone 4 direct from Apple.

My plan is to go collect the iPhone and then WITH the new iphone go to the o2 shop.. if they dont believe I have one I can just show them it

Hopefully they can transfer my SIM there and then

Didn't you get an email from apple confirming your reservation? Just print off that and take it to an o2 shop.

Yeh I did but I won't be in Milton Keynes until the day of release anyway so I'll just take the actually phone to the o2 shop instead

Early Upgrade Offer

I can obviously pay the £20 x 4 months with the early upgrade offer, and get an iPhone4.

But my contract is only £20 a month with discounts anyway, so would I be better of just paying up my contract outside of the early upgrade offer, or does it not matter??
