Depends if you can afford the out cost of the phone?
Also do you really need all them minutes, if you can go with 600 minutes, the texts are unlimited and the data...well 500mb is quite a lot-I use my FB, emails and general browsing all the time and only average about 70mb a month.
If you can't afford the overall cost of the phone, I would go for the free phone on 24 months @ £35 through o2.
the iphone 4 isnt free on that tartiff only the 3gs isWhat goes around-comes around0 -
I can upgrade my o2 contact in 2 weeks really would like an iphone4 but was wondering if its worth paying out for the 4 or getting a 3gs and putting the ios4 on it when its available as this would be the cheaper option. would there be that much difference between the phones if the 3gs had the new ios4 on it?
Thanks!!0 -
I've just come to exactrly the same conclusion on same tariff, except I will be moving from O2... I've always been happy with network coverage on O2 - is Vodaphone up to similar standards??
Not really sure but I guess so as being one of the biggest. I've always been a bit snobby about Vodafone to be honest? I just find O2 and Orange a bit 'cooler', no idea why :rotfl:.
I think it has something to do with the pathetic handset which was my first mobile phone many many years ago being on vodafone.
Anyone on vodafone care to tell us what they are like, network coverage, customer services, offers etc?0 -
I've been with Vodafone for about 3-4 years now and have no complaints.
I've had good connection pretty much everywhere, occasionally lose signal, but I think that's more a handset issue as my sister hasn't had these problems.
Customer service has been good when I've needed it. Had to send the handset for repair twice during my time with them and they've been very quick.0 -
Updated the spreadsheet with real Vodafone prices, and added a "Value for money talktime" index https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0ApfeHZ96DqZMdGIwd0lfV2sxRHlwWWV4NW4zYUVaVVE&hl=en_GB&pli=1#gid=40

Thanks for the update on the quality of service from Vodafone, and also that updated speadsheet. I think they are a serious contender now for anyone not able to shell out for the upfront PAYG prices - and who wants more than 500GB data.0

You wouldn't have the front-facing camera or the HD screen and Facetime probably won't work on it (not much point without the camera). Also, you wouldn't have the gyroscope so some apps for the 4 wouldn't work. There are supposed to be more than 100 new features on the 4 over the 3gs but I doubt if most people (me included) have even the faintest idea what the vast majority of them are.
I'm seriously thinking of getting a 3gs on Vodafone for my wife. £35 a month for an 18 month contract plus only £59 for the handset looks a good deal to me.If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

Aside from performance-related issues, the design is obviously another thing to consider. Steve Jobs labels the Iphone 4 'the thinnest smartphone in the world'.0 -
Any update on O2 giving out microsims? I'm very worried the iPhone will indeed be literally SIM FREE when O2 don;t give me one hahaha...
Any instructions on how to cut it into a micro sim? *gulp*[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."
