Still not decided how i'm going to get this bl00dy phone. It had better be worth this stress :).
Trying to raise funds to buy it on PAYG, or at least have the option to

    Use Dad's £30 towards a new phone (orange only though) - £30
    Car boot (if I'm lucky) - £50
Call in owed birthday present off sister - £50
    Saved so far - £40
Sell current phone on Muzuma - £30

    Hmm - just £299 to go then......:rotfl:

they haven't posted a sim free price in the US yet either have they ? Not that the exchange rate is superb at the moment, but for other apple gear it's still cheaper to buy in the US.

If that's the case, it's not a problem as the network can easily assign your existing number and contract to the new SIM.

    Really?
The SIM you are given on the day will be assigned a different number.. has a network ever let you transfer your contract onto a sim already assigned a number before?

If this is the case [which I hope it is] why are the networks not openly shouting it?

Yes. I lost my phone (and sim card) and wanted a new sim card for an old phone. I wanted to be reconnected immediately and was told to go into a store and pick up a PAYG sim card. I already had some unused PAYG sim card packs so I used one of them. Up and running within two hours.

It's like when you port your number over. You get a new contract with a temporary number on a new sim card and they allocate your number to the new sim card. All they do is allocate a number or account to a given sim card.

I don't think the networks are openly shouting about anything to do with micro sim cards, are they?

    Latest news on 3 pricing:
The smallest of UK's mobile phone networks, 3 UK, has apparently confirmed that it will be the last one to publish its tariffs for the Apple iPhone 4 because it wants to undercut the plans offered by the rest of the competition.
