    Hello

I am new to the Iphone, just wanted to ask a question :

Is it possible to use the new Iphone4 on just a normal contract.. rather then a Iphone specific contract ???

I am with Tmobile (I know they have not released their prices for Iphone4 contracts yet...

However I am up for renewal... and was going to try and get a cheap Flext deal with them (one that has internet as part of the package)
or any cheap contract with them that has internet as part of the package...

Would the new Iphone4 work well with one of these contracts (will buy the phone from apple)

Does the contract have to be Iphone4 specific? These seem to be always higher price.

Will I loose any functionality in my Iphone if I just got a Flext contract (or any other cheap contract that has internet as part of the package) from Tmobile to use the Iphone?

Thanks in advance for any advise.

T-Mobile don't offer Flext packages any more. If you are already on one, then you can remain on the tariff (without renewing) and use an iPhone. You need to have a package with data included to avoid high data charges. You won't get visual voicemail on a non-iPhone tariff and you almost certainly won't get WiFi (to be honest, I hardly use WiFi out of the home anyway). Other than that, you can be on any tariff. Might be worth holding on until T-Mobile offer the iPhone and see what their prices and options are.

So what, this thread is about the iPhone 4.......tissues ample? ROFL

:j Double the memory of the iPad and iPhone 3GS!! :j

Can't wait for all the reviews to start coming out in the next few days, its gonna get every award goin ;)

Either you have lots and lots of shares in Apple or you need to get out more.

I would say the iphone 4 would get awards for looking good but that would be about it. Things like a 5mp and a front facing camera isn't a breakthrough, it has been done and bettered by some. The screen is very good but it the Desire and Evo are so close in terms of quality.

Now I don't know if I was told this to fob me off, and I have no idea if it is possible or not, but they [O2] told me that when I collect the phone from Apple they will have contract-compatible micro-sims available for hand out at the store...

Has anyone else heard anything similar to this?

Why won't the networks release PAYG handset prices? It is hard to make an informed choice without them. They have got to be less than Apple's sim free price, but by how much?

I'm not bothered about it being available at launch, I just want to know. :(

Orange PAYG handsets will be locked to their network however they will unlock them for a small sum of money. The total I suspect will be the same or very similar as Apples SIM free price.

I would guess all other networks will price similarly

They will be handing out new Micro Sims.. but it will be a new contract or PAYG number.
It wont replace your existing SIM and contract (if you have one)

The New Iphone has 16% better battery so for every 100 mins you get 16 more. Groundbreaking !. They continently left out the part about the new LCD screen requiring 30% more power.

If that's the case, it's not a problem as the network can easily assign your existing number and contract to the new SIM.

Thanks Streeet. Only £20 saving though. :)
