I was in town today and called O2 as I am an existing contract user. I asked them how to get a micro sim as I have a phone reserved on 24th. They told me to go into my o2 store and they would have them. As luck would have it that was a hundred yards away...
I walk in, and the woman looked at me like I was on drugs - "I have no idea why they told you that as all we have are data micro sims for the ipad..."
So I call them back and had a similar discussion as the above chat -- I've registered interest and don't want to "chance" having a micro-sim. Now I don't know if I was told this to fob me off, and I have no idea if it is possible or not, but they told me that when I collect the phone from Apple they will have contract-compatible micro-sims available for hand out at the store...
Can anyone verify if this is true or not? I am seriously unimpressed by the way that providers have been handling this roll out.

P.S. This site is also !!!!!! that you cannot "quote" posts that contain links in them... sigh...
Its because you're a new useryou will be able to soon. Otherwise spammers would just do a false quote tag and put a link in it

Would it be a problem if I purchased an iPhone 4 handset with say Tesco then went and got an 02 Simplicity contract separately or is it in my favour to get the handset and contract from 02?
A Tesco iPhone would be locked to Tesco, I think only Apple are selling them sim free. ..0 -

Come off it, Killer; I think I was entitled to be a bit grouchy!! I'm all for helping people, but it's the old idea of if you think the CD tray is a cup holder, you're too stupid to own a PC.
Oh and Romero, site isn't !!!!!!; there are no issues with quoting posts with links in them once you've been a member for some time. Any new forum member is banned from posting links and that includes under the quote rule. It's to stop people signing up and then posting an advertising link. The site is advert free so they built that in deliberately. In the beginning, the universe was created. Not correct. iPhones bought from Tesco are locked to O2. I bought an iPhone 3GS from Tesco and used my O2 sim card with no problems. I also got the phone unlocked just before I sold it and I did this via O2.
All phones sold for the Tesco network are either unlocked or locked to O2 so I don't believe it would be any different for the iPhone 4.0 -

Yeah I understand that but I have been lurking since 2008. However if I am quoting someone else and the URL is not changed then it shouldn't prevent me from posting the message - just a minor annoyance and apologies for taking the thread off-topic.0 -
Once again romeroe.. a spammer could create a fake quote and then put a link in it
Think about it! :P
Lol Oscar... the iPhone is great for people who can't use computers don't forget! Calm down lad

Again, what I am saying is if the URL already exists in the original post, by a poster who is allowed to post URLs, and I quote said URL and don't change said URL it should be allowed... if the URL or quote is edited then prohibit it...0 -
You emailed the Seller from the link I posted and didn't bother to hit thanks?
I was helping the person who asked the question about it not buying it myself, I always click thanks if it is helpful to me.
As you will see from my post I have been a moneysaver for sometime on this site and know all about thanking- not buying myself though as would probably not be valid for me it's just the way my luck goes!0
