Well, my 16gb is reserved for launch day at the Apple Store in Manchester. Hoping to switch from O2 to Vodafone, given their (albeit leaked) tariffs. I'm hoping they're the real deal because Vodafone have much better coverage for me than O2.

I'd like to know this too!

I guess they are referring to this

    http://www.quidco.com/mobiles/pay-monthly/carphone-warehouse/

"£70 for iPhone 3G/iPhone 3GS pay monthly contract"

Not a chance this will apply to iPhone 4 IMHO

    I agree with djrobmac

There'll be no issue in getting a microsim. Microsim will probably be the next standard just as the current sim was an advance on the previous credit card sim.

O2 have even offered to send people a micro sim (by signing up for info pre launch) and now there's info on their Web site on how to change over your contract/PAYG on to the new micro sim.

I've ordered an iPhone 4 for delivery next week sim free and don't forsee any problems.

Right made up my mind going to get the iphone 4. As cant find any decent 3gs second hand for a good price. Now I want to buy it from bluewater apple store. Really hope they have some in stock for 3rd july! Going to go shopping on the net now for a cover for it. Any other bits do you think I will need? Been told an in car charger?

Thinking now whats the best way to buy it, I have the cash but don't want to take it out of my isa really. Thought about getting a cash back credit card but cant be bothered. Anyone know of any discounts with the Apple store? I take it currys etc wont be selling the iphone4? As they do some great 0% for 12 months deals.

I don't think you need one if you are going to need credit to get it!

Huh? Sorry I don't understand what you mean?

I want to find a cash back credit card or get cash back. Or maybe spread the cost over 12 months.

I could buy it with cash now, currently have £4k in my isa (see sig) but would rather spread it out longer and find the best possible cheapest deal. Which would be more MSE! :money:

Bearing in mind its always a risk to buy on ebay or over the net. And its used, I wouldnt want to part with no more than £200 for a 8gb model. For a fine example one.

Time will tell.. so far nobody knows how to get a microsim for an existing contract. The only options are new contracts or new PAYG sims with new numbers.

    WRONG!!!!!!

Here is the (edited to remove my details) transcript of a conversation I had with O2 on 11th:

You: I am an existing customer with a mobile contract that is not due to expire until May 2011. I have been looking at the iPhone 3GS and hte iPhone 4
Danny: Excellent is that a contract with ourselves there?
You: Yes. My current contract is not on an iPhone.
You: What I'm looking to do is upgrade to the iPhone 4, by purchasing the iPhone on PAYG
You: I've registered my interest in the iPhone 4 on the website. Are you actually going to be sending out micro sims early?
Danny: All you would need to do is call our customer care team once you have the handset to request the micro sim to be sent to you
You: When I purchase the Iphone 4, I will still be on an existing contract. Does this mean that when you move me over to the iPhone, I'll get unlimited internet (not wifi) or will I be put on the 500mb limit?
You: That's all the questions for now.
Danny: You would remain on the tariff you have now yes

The case for the defence....... rests!
In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move.
