Always read the daily thread and always think what a brilliant bunch you all are. I've never posted before but really feeling the need for some new friends today.
The age old problem i'm afraid - man trouble. I'm thinking of giving them up permanently, but everytime I think of that option I start to cry - pathetic aren't I, especially when you consider I'm 43 and sitting at my desk in work - I'd have some excuse if I was a teenager!!!0 -
Goodness, there are a lot of people feeling glum on here today! This is for all of you, no matter what the reason: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Just a quick welcome to tweegirl - stay on here and you'll soon have a bunch of new friends!
Also hugs to Topher - don't be too hard on yourself it takes time to recover from a warzone and from my (limited) experience of some classes that's what they can be these days.0 -

Hi, Shez! Page 3, for those of us on 20 per page! I was thinking you were lurking until post 40, for just that reason :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:Topher wrote:The predicted rain hasn't started yet here in Sunny South Yorkshire, so I've been doing some weeding in the front garden. We got some freebie topsoil a while ago, which unfortunately came with loads of freebie weeds and we haven't really stayed on top of it. We planted a row of Pyrocantha (or however they're spelled) to prevent next door's monster spawn from jumping off their conrete fence and landing in our freshly raked gravel, but the poor pyrocanthas are drowned by Dock & nettles. Sorry I wasn't very O.S. & threw the nettles in the compost bin instead of making soup.
Hi, Topher! It's sunny here in East Yorks, too, so washing on the line. Nettles belong on the compsost, IMHO - best OS thing you can do.
Kiwi and Hester, how terrible for you all. Hugs for you and your families.
Hi, Tweegirl, hugs for you, too!
Back soon, marrow and ginger jam on the go.

Hey, after a ten year struggle with Man trouble... (and don't even get me started on how that went) I gave up on them completely, I mean really, genuinely. Almost immediately I met my current partner (This is 9 years ago) I'm not going to pretend we're in a perfect relationship without problems, but this is the first man in my entire life that I intend to stay with forever.
If you want to know my own opinon of how this works, I'd say Give them up. Get yourself a life that only belongs to you, do it without a secret intent that this will enable you to "Get A Man" and start to be happy about it, and who knows where it will go? ... at least you could be happy about being you.
... and a good psychologist helps too.

Welcome tweegirl, i made the decission to give up men last year, and havnt looked back!!! If the right one came along, i wouldnt say no, but ive stopped looking, am consentrating on my children and me, and boy, are we happy!!!!
Topher - dont worry about the collapse, you sound like you deserve it!!!! Now you have written it all and shared with us, maybe you will feel like making baby steps with some of it!!!
Well, i popped back on to say ive finally made the welsh cakes!!!! And very nice they are too, the first bath i cooked a little too long (a bit burnt:o ) but they still taste yummy, so thanks for that recipe Kaz!!!!
Take care all xxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Forgot to add, Shez, rapberry muffins, no white chocolate MUST be healthy!!!!!:T  :j0

Thanks guys - Topher, that's exactly what I did try to do and the moment you stop looking, along comes the one!! I know its corny!
Basically, its not really man trouble (at least not that one), but ex-partners and kids - oh, and throw in a couple of parents and so-called well-meaning friends - sometimes the only option seems an outer-hebridean island.0 -
Anyone know what happened to the Elderberry thread on OS?
Edit - found it! It's been merged.
