Churchmouse wrote:Kaz, I just typed a long, probably babbling post, which got "eaten" as I posted!!!!
The gist was, I hope you didn't feel I was rubbing your nose in it that I ordered the griddle!:o I realise it wasn't exactly tactful just as you are facing up to your debt, I think I got a bit over excited!!! I wouln't hurt you intentionally for the world. Looks like you're getting some good advice on DFW, and with PenPen I don't think you can go wrong - she definitely seems "right" and I'd trust her!! Anyway ((((hugs)))) and well done you.
Ow Churchmouse - not at all!! I'm really chuffed for you and really chuffed that the cakes have been such a success with your family (and a few others here now) I really wanted you to get one 'cause I can't imagine how tme consuming it must be to cook them in a fry pan - and the taste really does get better the more you use the griddlestone.
I went nuts with my DS this week as he (thinking he was helpfull) stuck half of it in a bowl of dishwash water to wash it. I yannked it out and reseasoned it immediately!!! I know you've not tried spices yet - but go on, cinamon is really lush. You shouldn't be able to actually taste it - just a hint of something. TBH I judge the ammount by mixing into the flour and then sniffing it, lol.
Anyway - enjoy your new toy. It's well earned and I'm chuffed for you

Oh you don't have to convince me, Kaz, I love cinnamon, it's DH etc who are not so keen. Maybe I'll try just a hint in a single batch without telling them!!;)You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0
