    Hello everyone...

It's all dark...the electricity is off for the second time this evening, we don't even have street lights for a bit of secondary lights...and as it's absolutely chucking it down outside, there is no moonlight to see by either. So it's not too nice...hope it comes back before my laptop powerpack thingy gives up.

PurplePrincess..as suggested by another Old Styler definitely sleep on the situation. I'm sorry you're feeling bad about it...there are always choices, so think about all the possible solutions to the situation.

Hester...how awful about your DS's friend, it really saddens me when I hear of a young person passing away. What a waste of a life, and so much sadness and pain for the friends and family left behind.

Churchmouse...you mentioned yesterday (or the day before??) that while you like the sentiment behind the group hug smilie, the smilie looks a little rude to you. Have you ever hovered your cursor over it to see what text appears on the screen??? Try it now and see! :grouphug: Ha ha did that make you chuckle or go ?

AussieLass...your wee doggies will be well looked after by your DD and her housemate. I know the pet passports are great, but I don't think I could put my pets through that journey either, knowing there would be a return journey at some point later. My three beautiful cats (all now deceased:cry:) who I brought with me from England to Ireland hated the journey - it was so unpleasant for them even though they were in the car with me. (As you can imagine after an hour or two it wasn't too pleasant for me either...there are no motorway services which cater for kitties IYSWIM). I think you're doing the right thing for your doggies by letting them stay where they are. How are they getting on with your house btw? Have the iron support thingies arrived yet?

There was a minor miracle earlier...the local kiddy winkies were out making some sort of tree house in the hedgerow today. They asked for a lend of some shears to cut the hedge back, so I lent them mine. (The hedge needed cutting back so let them do it ha ha!). When they returned the shears they asked if there was anything I needed doing...so I sent them blackberry picking for me!! And they did it, they came back with loads, and also offered to repeat the favour over the weekend. Nice kids, when they aren't effing and blinding at each other, or throwing stones at cars driving up the road behind the development that is... I suppose I'll have to give them a blackberry muffin each.

The leccy still isn't on yet...been off for about 20 mins...lappy is going to die, hope I don't lose my post... actually, will submit this, then come back and edit it. I may be wittering a bit, I'm rather bored...sorry!!

Two minutes later....KiwiChick...I have a bookrest thingy, but find that I don't use it so much...I'm going to use it to rest a yoga book on and not use it in the kitchen. Something that has been very handy is to roughly jot the recipe onto a post it note (small writing or a large post it note, both work!) and then stick that onto a cupboard front. I seem to be starting a collection of them - and of course they are reuseable. Or you could write your favourite recipes out - or photocopy pages from the book - and just blu-tac or cellotape individual pages up on a wall or cupboard and then just bung them into a file when you're done cooking.

Right, I'm fed up now...gonna go and hunt down some candles. Maybe eat some carrot cake for its night vision enhancing qualities (yeah right!).

    Bye all, see you later.

Ooo err, Snowy! Hadn't seen anything amiss with this smilie before. Ill definitely think twice before using it again. :grouphug:

Kaz, love the avatar! Is it really you? Do you like mine?

Was given a huge tub of blackberries today. Now in the freezer, and will make into muffins next week.

Annie, glad you had a good time in York - I live near. What did you get up to?

W***ing next couple of days, but will try to read the threads, even if I don't get time to post.

Ah, but Catowen you have to try with Cornish clotted cream (I see your in the right place) and a little scrummy jam. You'll never eat scones again!

Snowy - I LOL so loud at that 'group hug' I had to explain to DS1. Luckily at 16 he's old enough to not need explanations ;)

Pen - yep I love your avatar, I hear it's really you in the cosie! I switched mine back on earlier so I could see all these new avatars. I'd only switched them off in the hope I could get the daily thread down to a manageable print out size.
DS has just been given a second hand lappy... I wonder if I can get t' net on that and then I can keep up with the thread in comfort. Not that I'm an addict of course.... I do 'function' 'normally' .... sometimes.... ;)

    Hi everybody,

Slinks in from the back door. Didn't come on yesterday. I was soooooo angry and upset I thought it best not too. DH arrived home about 10am. He had a argument with his foreman and walked off the job.   I was so angry as this really stuffs a lot of things up. I just wish for once he could see the big picture and NOT just lose his cool and think of himself. It has thrown me into a real downer. The problem is I know DH has been his own boss most of his working life and finds it challenging to take orders that he knows are wrong. Anyway I could go on and on but won't bore you anymore. There has been heaps of you not having a good day so I"m in good company. :D

Prinny How awful for you. ((((((hugs)))))) about your family and about your courses. I wouldn't know what to do either.

Snowy The frames should be ready in about 2 weeks they say. But usually I add another week on that.

I better get going. I can't remember anything else. Oh yes, welcome to the newbies. ;) there was something I was going to say to Stressed out Mum. I'll go and read back a few pages and edit later.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Kaz, I just typed a long, probably babbling post, which got "eaten" as I posted!!!!

The gist was, I hope you didn't feel I was rubbing your nose in it that I ordered the griddle!:o I realise it wasn't exactly tactful just as you are facing up to your debt, I think I got a bit over excited!!! I wouln't hurt you intentionally for the world. Looks like you're getting some good advice on DFW, and with PenPen I don't think you can go wrong - she definitely seems "right" and I'd trust her!! Anyway ((((hugs)))) and well done you.
