    Kaz,

where can i get a griddle from for my welsh cakes, or can i use something else instead?

My (welsh) nan used to make these for us when we were younger - they were to die for. It's one of my favourite memories of my nan - going round on a sunday for tea and welsh cakes.

I'm drooling just thinking of them

pp - hard to ignore i know but as most people have already said there are some small minded people out there - plus it reminds us how un-personal the web really is, you gotta be careful what you write about these days on here.

  • Shez - we must have been lucky with talktalk. Had no real problems, apart from having to wait about 2 days before we could get on the net

Have just had an almight row with DD (7) her friend has just left and she started going into one about how she couldn't play this game now, but in a really rude and in your face way. Completely lost the plot at her - now she's downstairs crying. Is it normal for 7 year olds to behave in such a rude way. Normally I could handle it - but every time she has a friend round she always plays up at some point - and she's so rude

    (takes deep breath)

Pennypincher - big hug!!!!I am furious on your behalf and the fact that your critic had to adopt an AE speaks volumes for their integrity or lack of it!!!Typing this in the library so I can have a short break.

Have spent all morning tidying our bedroom- even moved bed and hoovered underneath! Feeling very virtuous!!!Hugs to everyone

Churchmouse and Loubee - I agree with what you've said. I've been an SAHM, then worked part time (school hours in term time) and now children are grown I'm back at work full time but its the first that makes me most proud. I've given birth to and raised two lovely, hard working, polite members of society who both appreciate the fact that I was at home with them whenever they weren't at school. I've been reading Moggins Household Journal thread though and looking at some of the sites mentioned in America about subservient women - DH may have been the breadwinner but no way was I his inferior being:eek: .

Pennypincher - don't take the stupid poster seriously, contrary to what a lot of ignorant people think it is incredibly difficult to claim benefits and they certainly don't afford people a luxurious lifestyle especially when you have to find the money for the number of hospital visits you have to make.

This post is turning into a real rant, sorry - I'm feeling miserable, mainly because I am not feeling very well, my mystery heart problem seems to have started again after being ok for a few weeks. I've still not had results from the MRI scan so I don't know if they've discovered the cause or not. Meanwhile it just makes me feel ill - the consultant just told me that yes I would feel ill but he didn't think it was too serious:confused: .

Well, you lot are an AWFUL and DISGRACEFUL influence on me :naughty::D:D - I am now the proud owner of my very first Pukka Pad Project Book (the deeply girly pinky purply one) for use in all matters related to moving house - not only that, but I felt the need to get a funky metallic purple pen to write in it with, too :j ... I wanted an A5 one really, but figured 3 dividers wouldn't be enough ... They ought to sell extra dividers separately! ... I NEVER used to be one of those people who wanted stuff just cos all their friends had it! What have you DONE to me? :naughty::D ... PS - Aha, elona ... I see you're having the same problem as I do when posting from a "non private" computer (ie no formatting or paragraphs  )

Penny pincher - as scrappy doo would say... 'let me at'em, let me at 'em!' 18_2_100v.gif

I can't say what I want about the 'silly' person responsible as I know it'd be !!! or ***. Personally I am amazed at all that you do and how determined you are to make the best of everything for you and your family.

Wardy - I bought my griddlestone some years ago at an ironmongers, but that was after years of hunting . You can also get them online, I posted the web addie to one a while ago, I'll have look for you. Unfortunately they aren't cheap - but they last a lifetime. A heavy based frypan makes a good substitute - I think Churchmouse uses a fry pan.
This is a 'perfect' one, http://www.decuisine.co.uk/cookshop/bakeware/heavy-duty-griddle.html?ref=GABK09
and this is very similar to mine (use the opposite side to that shown as it is flat)

    Hi
Just popped in to say that we had a lovely time at Holiday Club today. The children were all pretty well-behaved, the weather was brilliant - so we could go play games on the field at the back of the church - and it all went well and was lots of fun. I am now exhausted!

PP - (((hugs)))) to you. Don't take it to heart, will you. Some people speak (or type) without knowing what they are talking about. Their opinions require as much thought as they gave you.... i.e. none.
