Stopped for lunch, and have spent all of it catching up with this ONE thread!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

My brain is now totally addled, and I'm afraid I can't say hello to everyone individually, since I'd need to go back again and take notes!!!!

My laundry is going very well, 2 lots blowing on the line and a 3rd about to join them shortly, and a reasonable amount of cleaning achieved. That's why I thought I deserved a sit down break!:D If it wasn't for the mountain of ironing that will now follow, my joy would know no bounds!!:rotfl:

Just a few remembrances from reading the thread.

PenPen think it was me not catowen who suggested you were wearing a suit, not your own feathers! Apologies, I'd forgotten how multi-talented you are:rotfl:

VickyA welcome to London, from one of the natives!:D Hope you have fun with each of your friends, just don't miss the last train home, we're very expensive to stay in!! You'd have to find an internet cafe so one of us could put you up!!

kiwichick agree the role of wife and mother should be valued. Think half the problem is we women don't value ourselves enough!! In a society that sees "paid" work as the only valuable work it can be an uphill struggle. When you think about it what could be more important than the task of rearing the next generation? Those who participate as teachers or nursery staff get respect, those that do it unpaid don't. Crazy!! (now climbs down sheepishly from her soapbox:o )

catznine Wow!! Glad you had such a great evening! This greenish tinge you see is not envy, no way, honest!:D :D

Penny-Pincher!! Anyone whose opinion was worth listening to, would have the courage to put their own name to it!! End of story!! But you shouldn't have to endure back-biting from people who do not know you, your family, or your full circumstances. I know it hurts you but try not to let it.:grouphug: Only a group hug would work here, but I still think it looks vaguely obscene!!:rotfl:

I've got to get off now, been on far too long, and I heard the WM do it's final spin a bit ago, but pretended not to!! (I'm really rather pathetic!)

Hope all your days go well, oh just remembered hope the headache clears soon scuzz and enjoy the theatre tonight AND tomorrow. ( Idon't really think you're spoilt:rotfl: :D )

    Check in tonight.

The hand unfortunately is worse and I am typing one handed. It has swollen up so much I have had to remove my wedding ring which really upset me but I didn't want to end up having it cut off.

I'm still here, just reading and not posting much :)

It was a bad cut, do you think it could be infected?

I am keeping an eye on it honest, keep looking for that little red line toappear. If it does get any worse I will go but I am supposed to be taking the kids to Longleat tomorrow and I don't want to disappoint them, although I wasn't much fun at Cattle Country yesterday as I couldn't join them on anything :( DH took over and they had a fab time, he has now gone into town for me to pick up DS's new school blazer.

You could always go very old-style and use that cure-all of giving it a soak in salt water.

    It's crap isn't it? though it seems whatever women do, we get slagged;

Stay home and look after kids-no respect, as don't claim salary

have kids and work-responsible for all ills in society and evil neglecters of children, probably brain washed by evil feminists

work and don't want to have kids-selfish, probably will cause downfall of society as we know it

  • Afternoon all

So far today I have made some broccoli and apple soup (thanks Curry Queen!) some wholemeal bread rolls, tonights tea and lunch for DD and her friend. Initially I was making melting eggy bread sandwiches, just as I was making them DD's friend pipes up that she's allergic to egg  So ham sandwiches it was then :rotfl: 3 loads of washing has been done, 1 drying in the TD, 1 on the line, 2 loads of ironing done and the kitchen floor has been cleaned :A

DD's friend should be going home in a minute, so I think I've completely overdone it and should now just veg in front of the TV ;)

Penny-Pincher - sorry to hear about the nasty poster - don't let them get you down. It takes so much more energy to be nasty than it does to be nice :D

    Take care everyone
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)
