Afternoon all,
Just sharing some cr*p news with you all. I've just had british gas out to do a home service check which I cheekily only paid £16 for. Anyway, it seems they cant service or source parts for my boiler cause its some cheapo eastern european import that is no longer in production despite only being put in 18 months ago. I have to replace the boiler at an estimated cost of £780 + labour. Fanf*ckingtastic:mad:. DH has just been told he'll be getting £900 compensation for a car accident he had in feb (someone drove round the roundabout the wrong sodding way and totalled his car). I was lloking forward to having a bit spare for a change.............oh well, at least we have got, or will be getting, the money.
He also said that the leak upstairs from the rad in our room is worse than first thought, the carpet is mouldy, the rad is shot and the floorboards are swollen and may rot:eek:.
Just what I need before I have a driving lesson that I am really too tired to cope with.WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -

((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) Kwickchick
Get another opinion for replacing the boiler......and also the rad problem.....BG are reknown for saying that something cannot be repaired and offer to replace it at an exhorbitant cost.

Since this isn't money saving, I'm going to move it over to the daily thread for you. I wish I could find 3 bottles of bubbly in my cupboard though!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

So sorry kiwichick :grouphug: Awful to have a sudden unexpected bill and such a hefty one too!0
-
Oh Kiwichick - that's so gutting! I'm with tootles on this - I really think you need to get a second opinion. It doesn't seem right that an appliance that is only 18months old isn't covered by a warranty of some sort.
Perhaps someone on here can advise you? Isn't there a board for DIY and homeimprovements etc? Perhaps there's a plumber on there that can advise you?

Hi all
((Hugs)) to all who need them
Boys first day back at school today, they were excited at seeing their friends today as they hadnt seen them over the holidays.
Their day went fine, ds2 gets aout at 2.45 and ds1 gets out at 3.15 so had to wait for 30 mins til ds1 got out! wasnt worth walking back home, as by the time i would have done that, it would have been time to go back down!
So easier if i could drive:D
Ds1 has been sick twice since coming home, maybe all the excitement of the day, his bloods have settled down a bit, as they were quite high:eek:
Lo has been in a boogie mood, as he was wiggling his bum to my music i had on over teatime, he looked so cute!:rotfl:
Went to aldi today, got a couple bits of fruit that was on offer, got strawberry tarts ( all gone)! not by me though!
Went to woolies, took dh in to see if he wanted any dvds, but nothing there he liked! dont think he was in a shopping mood:rotfl:
He will have fun when we go for a days shopping in glasgow at xmas then:rotfl:
Kids are the same, they normally go off to do some manly shopping while i do my shopping!:T
Made chicken in my slow cooker last night, just bunged in lots of veggies, a ragu tomato sauce, kidney beans and the chicken, it was lovely, big thumbs up from the kids!
Will see what i can do tonight with it:j0
