Kaz - i would keep hold of your receipt, and then on friday see if the sizes you want are there and reduced, you can then take the full priced ones back, and buy them again at the reduced price!!!!

Lol, that's exactly what I muttered to my son as we were leaving - only the loud mouth only repeated it in his megaphone voice, lol.

Oh Churchmouse, I'm so jealouse :(

My nan offered me hers a few years ago, but I declined as it was at the stage that she was giving everything away in the 'I've no use for anything' mindset and I wanted to encourage her to still cook the cakes.
She's not well enough to use it anymore so I asked if she still had it... She no longer recalls offering it to me (I'd never have done that, lol) and is adamant that she still uses it. Me thinks she gave it to someone else 'cause she forgot she wanted me to have it, lol.
Then again - mine works well. I think I only wanted hers or one similar simply because it had been hers or like hers. (I was brought up by her)

Moggins - you make me feel so ashamed with all you manage to get done. This year has been my worst as far as doing things with the kiddies in the hols, but I swear next year I'm going to follow your example. I may even manage to have a 'tidy' house at some point...
Hope your hand is better soon.

Right, I really must take my sleeping pill and head to bed for a read while it kicks in. Did anyone watch 'kingdom hospital'? I'm reading the book that inspired it - based on true accounts... It's very good, and Shez - if you're reading, I had some very strange experiences the first night I read it

    G'night all!

    Hello everyone!

Pink-Winged - your Beth's results are fabulous, many congratulations to her.

PennyPincher - I can't add very much more to what other people have said about ignoring this plonker who has been unpleasant. You may remember a few days ago someone mentioned that she was being stalked - who knows, this person who doesn't have enough to do may be bothering other people. I'd suggest letting abuse know your thoughts/suspicions on the matter. BTW rise above this oaf's bad manners - you haven't done anything wrong, you receive your entitlements and manage your income well, you do not sponge off anyone, you are bettering yourself through education, and you are raising an intelligent, healthy and happy child. So whoever has been unkind about you can p*ss off.

KiwiChick - think I'd take that BG opinion/quote with a pinch of salt too. Getting a few quotes from other sources is definitely good advice.

    Catznine...wow Patrick Swayze...phoarrrr, those hips!!!

AussieLass - I'm glad Daisy is OK. What are you going to do with her when you come over to Scotland? Shall you bring her with you? If you get her a "Pet Passport" she may well be allowed to avoid British quarantine.

Churchmouse - I see you're from London. I used to live in Northolt, prior to that Kingsbury, prior to that Enfield, prior to that Harrow. Boy do I miss it...have a field full of cows behind my garden now, used to have the Central Line. Am not being funny BTW, I loved my weekends when I'd get on the tube and within 30 mins or so be in Oxford St or Notting Hill, or in Hyde Park, or in the City - I love the variety of London. It's a bit quiet here, except for the mooing of course.

Big apologies everyone...I can't remember what anybody has said now, I definitely need a rest. I'm having a shower first though, just in case I am late getting up in the morning.

    Sleep well everyone!

I'm south London, Snowy. SE now ( no tube line!icon9.gif) but grew up in Clapham on the northern line!!! Loved being minutes away from museums shops etc!!

Love the countryside to visit, but I'm a townie through and through for living!! Occasionally have visions of a quiet life in a village setting, but then reality hits and I know I'd never be organised enough to cope!

Anybody know how that sad face got into the title line? I'm sure I didn't put it there!!

Hi Churchmouse...I really miss the big museums as well, thanks for reminding me! When I worked in South Ken (oow how posh am I?!) it was so easy to pop into some of the most famous. You are right about village life - any time after the shops are shut (at 6.00 pm...or 1.00 pm on Sunday...!!!!) there is never a soul about. Tranquil yes...but I find it a bit creepy too sometimes, it's like I am the only living thing there. The garages are usually open until around 11.00 pm for that emergency pint of milk...not quite the same as a choice of 24 hour supermarkets! Shame you don't have the tube there - but won't that change for the Olympics (only six years to wait then...)

I have to go to bed now, night night!!

Goodnight Snowy hope you sleep tonight. We both got pet passports for our dogs. (we have 2) but DD has decided to house/doggy sit for us while we are gone which is much better as they are getting on now & it would have been quite hard to manage at times with them. I will miss them dreadfully but I think they will be happier here. DD's friend who has been boarding with us since we've been here will be sharing the house with her so they should cope very well.

PP I read the thread yesterday that you were referring to. The person lost the plot due to losing the argument. Odd that they knew your particulars so well so I suspect they must read them from here. I think it's rude of people to have an AE just to abuse others.

I have spent too long on here reading this thread so I better get going. Byeeee

Hope your driving lesson went well Kiwi. ;)
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

I really hope you get a decent night's sleep tonight Snowy.

Aussielass........ you'll miss the dogs and they'll miss you, but they will probably be happier at home. Just think how pleased they'll be to see you when you get back.
