Penny-Pincher!! wrote:Morning Guys
Am a little upset today about some comments made yesterday on another thread about me sponging basically and that people are paying for my benefits in their taxes etc. A comment was made about me shopping in Waitrose..blah blah blah. Obviously this person was to cowardly to post under their normal ID and used an AE...but it hurt all the same. I shouldnt let it bother me as I know Im not well and have always worked and paid my taxes before I became ill, but it really has hurt me. I hate claiming benefits and would give everything to go back to work as I miss it soooo much. Im not cut out to be stuck at home...I HATE IT!! Im 31 and want my life back!
As you can see I feel really down today.

Some folk need to get a life rather than sitting back and passing comment on others. I've survived in 101 ways including benefits, and know many people who, for all sorts of reasons have had to use our benefits system.
When I was living as a single parent with two children and only £18 per week for groceries I too dared to enter the hallowed halls of Waitrose. Only I know what I could & couldn't afford, and its not up to anyone else to comment on my ability or not to pruchase there. Same goes for you, you sound to have had your freedoms limited by circumstances, so I wish you to at least be able exercise what freedom you do have without some coward passing ill informed judgement on you.....
Have a lovely day.

Its actually cheaper for me to shop in Waitrose than Tesco or Asda as I can use upto 50% of the total amount with vouchers. So Im spending less than I would in another supermarket....abviously..I want to spend as little money as poss. I dont get what the poster meant.
I have a good idea who it is anyay...but just really hurt! Although I do say things about my health on the boards...I still dont say how bad it really is and try and stay as positive as I can.
Some people need to get a life and maybe sort their own lives out before commenting on others!
Thanks for the comments, much apreciated today.
Well done on the sub!!

Hi Everyone
I've got the world's worst headache today. It came on late yesteday and just won't go away. Think it's caused by too much work and too little sleep. Work is really dragging today
I'm really fed up being in the office. Everyone's constantly moaning and it's starting to get me down.
Got a free trip to the theatre this evening as it's a press night. Taking my sis along. Then going again tomorrow with mum
Funkyfairy hope the kids do ok at the dentist

Take no notice PP. I am on incapacity benefit because I can't work. Luckily though I am able bodied and can take my dogs for a walk and do housework and cooking. My husband earns a decent wage but I really wish I could earn some too because I'd love to move house. I can't complain though because Im the sort of person who loves being at home pottering about and having time to do things. At the moment my two teenage girls are at home too because its their summer holidays before going to Uni/college so Im not lonely! Also, the only reason I am eligible for Incapacity Benefit is because I previously worked for 10 years (whilst bringing up my two daughters) and paid my National Insurance.
Chin up PP. People who haven't suffered a bad illness can't understand what its like - I have been in a pretty bad way in the past and I wouldn't wish my ailment on my worst enemy. I just make the most of the time that I am feeling ok and my dogs help me too because they aren't judgemental and give me a lot of love!0 -

PP - who is it, im sure there are loads of us on here who will give them a virtual boot up the backside for you!!!!
As ive said before, i have an aunt with your condition, and it really isnt a pleasant thing to have, so it makes me really angry to hear someone being so blaise about it. I appriciate there are plenty of people out there who do scrounge on benefits, but from what i know of you, you certainly arnt one of them!!!
I agree with Rzl, dont let them get you down!!!!!0 -
Hi PP- just wanted to add my hugs to you. My BF suffers from a muscle disease and has been on and off disability benefit since he was 18, and I know how frustrating it can be when stupid ignorant people judge you, especially when you would give anything to be able to work.
remember, you are a great mum, a kind and clever person (congrats on your 92 %) and are worth much more than cowardly judgemental idiots. *hugs*
By the way-hello and hugs to all. Am enjoy a peaceful day at work-all the Undergrad and Masters students have finished for the year, so i can do some of my own research. Before the next batch arrive0
