You're right there's no reason we can't do that - except its wrong to call it a small change - it take a lot of time to get these things right and huge numbers of hours. It is not something i'm batting off - just there's a huge amount of priorities ahead of that.

Sorry Martin, but you dont understand how CSS works if you think changeing the background and or text colour is a big deal

It is litraly changeinng #FFFFFF for the background or #000000 for the text in the CSS file to something else for the relavent elements.

But, as a side note, the text in the old version is the same font, same colour (black) and the same size.

The background is the same white....................

So why does version two look so much harsher than version one????

I am actually trying to help here martin, as there is no bloody differance, between the two styles, yet so many see the new style as brighter, but in reality its not...........................

Make sense of that one everyone ??????????

In case anyone doesn't believe that they're the same here's a picture. Can anyone tell me which is version one and which is version two?

  • Its all to do with borders and headers, the green header on the reply boxes box is slightly darker in the old version and the borders are darker, which breaks up the white, in other words, it is an optical illusion that the text is darker, or the background lighter, there is simply less to break the white up that makes it look whiter

What I don't understand though is why black on white bothers people on here but they manage to use it in microsoft word perfectly fine and that's got a lot more white.

Assumeing the white is white and black is black in word (never looked but i think it is) it may be that you dont stare at the screen reading, as your typing a bit, then reding a bit, and so on, but on a forum, you reading more than your typing, so spend longer looking at the screen...........maybe

I've really tried to like the new skin but I've just gone back to the old version with a sigh of relief.
