While these changes sound small they're not

The thanks button is a mod we imported - to do what you want would require finding another mod or rewriting masses of code - a huge undertaking.

I know its difficult sometimes but what can and what can't be done isn't always obvious.

Vbulletin is the software we run off, its not our own kit, so altering it isn't easy. Redesigns are something that the structure allows - but changing how things operate is entirely different.

Not to mention can introduce security issues if not done correctly............

I have to agree, while altering the 'skin' is hard enough, altering the PHP code, the bit that feeds all the things you see to the style, is a nightmare as so many componants rely on others to work correctly....and its not always clear how they intreract, so easy to miss a conection and crash a whole site.

how easy? missing a ' , ' or an ' ( ' in a line of PHP code could crash this whole site

Your time would have been better spent upgrading to vBulletin 4.0.3 than spend 000's of hours revamping an old version of 3.8.4.

Would it be possible to make the box that appears when you edit a post larger?

When I try to edit a large post it's sometimes difficult to find what I'm looking for in the small box given at the moment.

    Thanks

Unless I'm misunderstanding your question, you can do this by using the double up and down arrows to the right of the ABC (spell check) button where you compose your message.

After the price hike, i wouldnt on principle.

Though i still have to find the time to see why V4.XX is worth so much more, i cant see it myself, maybe you could save me the time and give me the short version of why a £50 a year piece of software suddeny rocketed to a £250 (i think it was when i looked last)?

Its still like back to the 80's with old dial up speeds, wonder if i'm burning at 28kbps or whether its been upgraded to a mighty 56kbps cos it does seem a nanosecond faster....

Sorry, ok the sarcasm is dripping but this is a joke, what - use all the speed to upload graphics that really isn't necessary all the while making it frustratingly impossible to post replies?

Thing is, instead of subbing to several hundred threads (usually when involved in debt cases or whatever) i'll be cutting mine to 3 threads cos this is a joke, I click next and about 20 seconds later the page loads, 20 more and I can actually then click reply, give it another 20 seconds and hey presto, up pops the wysiwyg editor - jobs a good un (eventually)....

sorry, but as others have said - if it aint broke.......

Well considering hundreds of people on the forum are whinging about the speed it is a problem..... maybe you have one page open, I have 8 pages open right now - and no it is not my network - my network is fine and everything else works fine, just not MSE!

Its slow, very slow IMO. :o:o

I am still happy with the new forum look and have been using it since I found it, through the testing and everything!

The only thing I would say like others, is the button showing online/offline is too big, even on my mobile, it looks huge, any chance of making this smaller please? Or if you can't, change it for something less intrusive?

I like the new graphics and the layout.

I don't like the thread stats. None of that information is of any use to me, and I am sick of seeing the social network sharing links. They are everywhere on the internet these days.

The warnings at the top of the page and the navigation bar that tells me the time I last logged in take up too much space. The priority really needs to be to push the first post right up to the top of the page. I understand the disclaimer is necessary but it just takes up too much space.

    Overall, definitely an improvement.
