    I have been using the new look since you asked for testers and much prefer it. Don't think I can even remember what the old one looked like anymore!

    I've only just found the new format and I'm a comparitive newbie to this site unlike some of you guys, so I'm not yet qualified to comment. One thing that I don't understand is the constant referral to AVATARS! Am I missing something? what are avatars? Where can I find the answer?
    Hello! Is there anybody there?

    If you can't see avatars, then check your settings.

    Click: ---> Edit Options

    Scroll down and check that this option is ticked.

    If not, then click to tick the box.

    Then scroll down and click the Save Changes button at the bottom.

    Making it harder for people to remove things from publication doesn't seem like a good move and delete plus repost to do it seems like a right pain, assuming delete still deletes and completely removes from publication the text, other than in web archives.

    I wouldn't want to be MSE continuing to publish defamation after a poster has chosen to withdraw the defamation in the version they are choosing to publish. Even without defamation it's not a good move IMO to make it harder for people to have second thoughts and publish an edited post that's more friendly towards the person they were addressing. Seems like a recipe for more arguments that are harder to de-escalate.

    You can only view the "Edit History" for your own posts, so none of those issues would be applicable.

    Thanks! That seems more like a handy feature than a liability (and liability risk). Good to read.

    You must have snuck that change in. :p

    On this new style, they were showing whether you were logged in or not. I did think that was odd, but with everything else going on I didn't comment.

    Makes sense though that both styles are now back to only showing them for logged-in users. Would be a waste of site bandwidth serving them up to 'guests' and webcralwers.

    Interesting that this thread is far more positive than the original which did not give the impression 'most of [us] like it'.

    Anyway, random observation. But I'm still sticking with version 1 for the foreseeable - I find it much more compatible with my reader program.

    I agree about the black dividing lines, it drives my eyes mad not seeing them! I'm glad to have the option of sticking with version 1 anyway. :)
