Is there a spam button anywhere, or has it been binned?

It looks nice but it's still really really slow for me.

The background colour for quoted text ought to be different than the message border colour, probably a bit lighter would be better.

I find it way too bright, the option buttons are too big, too much scrolling, and it all has given me a headache!

I'm back on the old version now, I find this much easier to read and navigate, which no huge 'play school' style buttons to distract me!

I'm sure the new version can be tweaked to make it easier on the eyes, it just ain't there yet...

I've only just found the new format and I'm a comparitive newbie to this site unlike some of you guys, so I'm not yet qualified to comment. One thing that I don't understand is the constant referral to AVATARS! Am I missing something? what are avatars? Where can I find the answer?
    Hello! Is there anybody there?

(The last time I asked a silly question was about switching from a dial up connection to broadband, some helpful person on this site told to grab the first 10 year old I could find to show me how to do it. I dont mind being laughed at as long as I learn something new.)
Trying to learn something new every day.

    ;)
  • my "thanks" aren't registering in either V1 or V2 versions - I click it and the "thanks" info bar disappears, I refresh and the info bar is back but so is my thanks button and the number hasn't increased,

Odd. Seems to work whenever I try it. Send me a PM and tell me what browser and what browser version you are using. If the problem is persistent or occasional. As much info as possible. Thanks.

Ooh - all excited now. Just found a new feature (I think it's new). If a post has been edited you can see both old and new versions now.

Avatars are the little pictures people have under their name, so mine is Glenn Quagmire from Family Guy as I had to remove a previous one for it been off putting as it was animated.

I'm happy with it too. I used it during the trial and when my computer crashed and it reverted back to the old one, I was desperately trying to find out how to get the new one back!

I do however use a big screen on a pc and need glasses to read, so that might influence my choice.
For my difficulty reading it, that's on a 30" monitor.

Making it harder for people to remove things from publication doesn't seem like a good move and delete plus repost to do it seems like a right pain, assuming delete still deletes and completely removes from publication the text, other than in web archives.

I wouldn't want to be MSE continuing to publish defamation after a poster has chosen to withdraw the defamation in the version they are choosing to publish. Even without defamation it's not a good move IMO to make it harder for people to have second thoughts and publish an edited post that's more friendly towards the person they were addressing. Seems like a recipe for more arguments that are harder to de-escalate.[/STRIKE]
