            I don't think anyone has suggested that it is a given but the OP is living next door to these people and she is the one who has to assess the risk to herself and her property. If she is worried about how they may react, I don't think those of us who don't know these people should be telling her to go round to them.
 Exactly. Once it's done it can't be undone, so if it does go badly she has to live with the consequences, that might be far worse than what she is suffering now.
 Another thing I'd say about this "they're only children" argument. If they are not shown any boundaries of acceptable behaviour at home, is it any wonder they create havoc in school? Their parents aren't doing them any favours by not telling them to pipe down and show a bit of consideration, as they will most probably grow up to be those bombastic, overbearing adults who end up wondering why they don't have any friends.             Re the 'cheap burger' comment - perhaps the op means that the smell they give off is unpleasant, as against plain meat which tends to smell quite appetising when grilling.0
