I've just started reading this thread and can't believe that you're having such a hard time. The people you work sound like pigs and the big boss needs a massive wake up call. I've worked with so many companies that treat their staff like this and then one day wonder why everyone has left them! I really hope you manage to get another job offer sorted as I don't feel that you will get the most out of your current job even if you do get your bonus structure sorted. they've already shown how little they care about the subject so I would suggest putting more effort into new jobs rather than chasing the bonus element. It is such a hard thing to do though and can be so dis-heartening when you don't get the right job but keep at it and don't give up. One thing that someone said to me once when they were questioned about jumping jobs so quickly, they said that they realised they hadn't been put in the right position at their current company and was underachieving due to poor management decisions. This should hopefully demonstrate that you're not jumping ship intentionally but want to work somewhere where you can excel yourself and become a high-achiever.
Keep in there, everyone here is well and truly behind you.0 -

Right, big boss has just come up to me (5.25pm talk about last minute!) saying he's been working figures out with my manager and because the structure of the company lately they have had to change how they were originally going to do it and we are sitting down tomorrow morning and they are going to go through everything with me.
At this rate, doesnt sound too promising about my backdated bonus (4 months worth) but I guess there is no harm in mentioning it.
They have been more cheery and more pleasant with me lately so I'm not in such a grump with them as maybe I was just letting my emotions get the better of me so while I am still here I am going to try to put my personal emotions aside and just get on with it otherwise I will wind myself up.
On the new job front, nothing, nada, not a word.
I'm only applying for jobs which is going to help with my career and get me into HR, not just any random job.
So, the hunt is still on, bonus will hopefully be confirmed by this time tomorrow and I'll just have to bite my tounge and try to get on with everyone a little bit better.:j *~* 2011 - TRY TO GET CREDIT CARD AS LOW AS POSS BUT STILL HAVE FUN *~* :j0 -
I've been reading this with interest. I admit I know very little about it, but if you have evidence in writing that you were promised bonuses, could you take them to a small claims court or similar if necessary?
I know you're looking for jobs elsewhere, but you've worked hard for that so don't just let it go.0 -

So, have you got your proposal as to how they can do it ready for tomorrow then?0 -
I did spend most of the day yesterday doing spreadsheets showing my work for last 3 months (didnt have time to do the whole lot) and when I told my boss last night I had these to show in our meeting he said we wont be needing them as they are going to be doing it differently than initially planned.
But then again, he doesnt know what is on my spreadsheets so how does he know it doesnt go with the new plan?
So, meeting this morning (so maybe this afternoon!) cant say what I'm expecting at all, I'm preparing myself to be very disappointed and also not to get a whiff of anything for the work I've done the last 4 months.
But, sooner I know what I'm getting, the sooner I can stop going on about it and just focus on looking for other jobs.:j *~* 2011 - TRY TO GET CREDIT CARD AS LOW AS POSS BUT STILL HAVE FUN *~* :j0 -

Apologies if my last few posts have come across as negative or pessimistic. I hope I'm wrong, and his structure means you're going to get a 5k bonus every year regardless of performance. But it seems unlikely.0 -

Do we know if Sara has any recourse in law to claim the owed money back under the company's existing bonus structure? Since other colleagues are being paid bonuses? Seems really wrong that they can just change their minds at this late date.0
