    Still havent heard anything.

Havent had the chance yet to mention it either. Instead I have to listen to everyone else go on about how much they are all going to get as bonus at the end of the month.

OK I understand that they are consultants and its part of their job to get commission but I just feel so left out sometimes!

I work the same long hours as they do (8am - 6pm) for a salary of £15k which I've been on with jobs before for doing less hours and responsibility!

Right now I just couldnt care less. I dont see why I should even bother working hard when I'm not being rewarded for it.

And I'm trying to get more work to keep me busy (and show initiative) and they just ignore me.

I'm so tempted to just go home and look for a new job with more perks, the only thing is, this is the 2nd time I've been with this company and was extremely grateful to be given another opportunity but still... I feel I can be somewhere where I'm actually appreciated.

Dont worry I'm not going to do anything drastic I just feel really down about the whole thing :(

go and talk to the big boss yourself. You're letting someone else (your manager) decide your future for you. You deserve it! You shouldn't be afraid to ask for money you're owed. They'll let you work for free if they could!

Fear is a response. Confidence is a choice.

    :)

Oh, and I'm watching this thread now, so I expect you to go and do it in the next 30 mins. We all need answers!!!!!

    Thanks!

Sod's law is that my big boss has gone for meetings for the rest of the day and my manager has gone to pick his car up (oh yeah, they all have shiny new cars too!)

No idea when the big boss man is back so would it be worth waiting for him and ask or bug my manager again?

Wait for the big boss, definitely.
Your manager doesn't give a toss, if he did, he'd have done something for you and reported back.
You'll notice he hasn't told the garage "Oh, I'll look into picking up my car in a few days".
That's because the car is important to him.
    Your career isn't.
So roll your own career and go to see the big boss yourself.
    :)

Thanks! I need a great big kick up the butt sometimes!

I've just been a bit over sensitive lately and things are getting to me. I just want the extra money!

Time I got myself some more confidence me thinks! Going to speak to the big boss next time I see him and will report back :)

    Thanks again

  • Waiting for an answer's painful isn't it? At least you've been brave and asked the question, so you should be proud of yourself. If you need to ask the big boss it'll be no big deal because you've already broken the ice.

One more thing - when you speak to the BigBoss, ask him if he can spare you a couple of minutes, then sit down and talk to him about what you want. The worst thing in the world is to bluurt out "someonesaidthey'dlookatapayriseformeanditsbeenagesandnowIon'tknowhwtatodo"
And to have him say "Ok, I'll look into it".
And then you leave. Cos you've blown your chance and it'll be difficult to bring it up again.

Just ask him if he's got a few minutes, and when he says yes, ask him if you can talk in his office, or a spare meeting room, or whatever you've got there. Make it clear and slow, be happy with how it went, even if the answer isn't what you want (which I hope its not!)

He has an office right behind my desk and I've gone in and talked to him about other problems before so I know he is easily approachable.

I'm not expecting instant results but I just want to let them know that I'm still here and waiting for my bonus! At least sit down and maybe sort a bonus structure out as I at least know what I WILL be getting...

I'm also going to see if I can get it backdated because it should have come into affect 3 months into my employment, I've now been here 6 months so I think I should be getting 3 months worth!

Highly doubt they will agree to that but you never know!
