Still no news.
Big boss has hardly been in since I've been back so havent had the chance to ask him.
Lots of things with this company are really starting to get to me and part of me just wants to throw the towel in and quit.
Its now been 4 months since I was suppose to have my bonus set up and I cant see that they have even looked into it, the boss is hardly about so cant even talk to him, the manager is a complete **** and although in the contract I'm only suppose to work 8.30-5.30 I'm told to work 8am-6pm (as does everyone else) and if I'm even 5 minutes past 8am I get a sarcastic telling off.
I know these are all things that I should sort out and take straight to the big boss but as I barely get to see him all my thoughts are going into 'should I find a better job?' The salary I'm on is more or less average for an admin person in my area, and at the moment I'm doing way more than admin!
Argh, sorry to rant its just this company are really annoying me today!:j *~* 2011 - TRY TO GET CREDIT CARD AS LOW AS POSS BUT STILL HAVE FUN *~* :j0 -

Hi Sara. Sorry you're having a hard time. It sounds like you've done as much as you can 'quietly', and they're clearly dragging their heels. Keeping you hanging on for such a long time shows that they really don't care. They're taking advantage of you and my guess would be that they will continue to do so for as long as possible..
It can't hurt to look for another job. You can see what's around and put out feelers for starters. Keep your options open
Don't be sorry to rant. It sounds like you've every right to be annoyed!
Good luck0 -
Thanks
It was the fact they really annoyed me today because they are going to another department to watch the football on Wednesday afternoon and because I dont like football, they have made me cover all the phones while they go watch football and enjoy sandwiches.
I did kick up a fuss and said that wasnt fair but they said they need the phone cover and that my first answer was final.
Got sooooooooo annoyed with them I gave myself a headache lol!
I'm moving into a new flat next month which is going to cost me more a month so could really do with the extra money and I'm trying to save for our holiday in Sept and so far have no money for it so I cant really risk going for another job right this minute...
But, I will keep my eye out once things are more settled at home:j *~* 2011 - TRY TO GET CREDIT CARD AS LOW AS POSS BUT STILL HAVE FUN *~* :j0 -
Ok, its me, and I'm back to kick you in the butt again.
You're stalling.
Not intentionally, but you are.
Ignore your manager, he is a giant donkey penis. You've got some kind of calendar, or meeting-booking facility set up in your company, right? Some method of booking someone's time, or organising a meeting?
Create a meeting between you and BigBoss, pick a vacant room, and a date and time early next week when his calendar says he's free. That'll fix up your bonus discussion. MAKE SURE THIS HAPPENS. If he declines the meeting, post back, I'll give you further instructions.
Second - your contract - if you're happy doing 8-6 then that's fine. If you want to do your hours (and I would work-to-time until someone sorts out my 4-month backdated bonus) then if I rocked up at 8:30 and had some nobber say "What time do you call this?" I'd say "Its my contracted hours".
Like I said before, they'd let you work for free, so leave at 5:30 if you freaking want to. That's your contracted hours, so nobody can berate you for it, or discipline you for it.
As for the footy thing - unfortunately you might have to suck that one up - or pretend to like football (as I do) in order to have a legitimate 90 minutes away from the desk0 -
Hi Butt-kicker!
Unfortunately there is no calendar / meeting / diary thing that I have access to but I did send him an email requesting that we sit down to discuss this so its just a matter of waiting for him to read and respond.
As for hours in contract, I have mentioned this to another boss and he takes the same attitude as me because I dont really mind working the extra hour a day because the phones are off the hook and its a chance to wind down and do paperwork before leaving, I was just in a right strop yesterday so I was picking on everything with this company.
As for football, I've told work I'm bringing in a magazine and not doing anything other than taking messages, they didnt really say much to that because they know if they turned around and said anything I would have a pretty good argument that they were watching football and not doing any work.
Today is a better day however, I have given myself work to keep myself busy and so far I havent been disturbed and hope it continues.
Will keep you updated on when the bigboss replies to the email:j *~* 2011 - TRY TO GET CREDIT CARD AS LOW AS POSS BUT STILL HAVE FUN *~* :j0 -
I look forward to your reply. Don't forget that every hour of "unpaid" overtime you do devalues your hourly rate.0

WELL?!
(message is too short? Lies! Post, damn you!)0 -
The big boss walked past my desk, mentioned he received my email and that it will be sorted, He then proceeded to go watch the football and I havent seen him since....
In the meantime, this morning I applied for a job literally 2 minutes from here for a huge insurance company, doing the same job but more variety, less hours and possibly more pay.
They called me around 2 hours after my application but havent been able to call them back as stuck at my desk but fingers crossed it sounds like an interview!
The job hunt is ON!:j *~* 2011 - TRY TO GET CREDIT CARD AS LOW AS POSS BUT STILL HAVE FUN *~* :j0 -
I haven't posted before but I have been reading this thread for a while - just wanted to wish you luck.
Why not be brazen and ring them back from your desk!!!!!
Okay, maybe not from your desk, but if they are ringing you just hours after you submitted your application then maybe they want to move fast - I would ring them as soon as you can!
Good luck!0
