works for me, may use lane 2 if there is little or no traffic. I used to come back from jobs late at night and do 50 plus miles without leaving the 3rd lane, no real point in changing lanes for the fun of it
So your sitting in lane 3, and your car cuts out loosing all power, you then have to try to get to the hard shoulder, :rotfl:ANURADHA KOIRALA ??? go on throw it in google.0 -

ive often thought a limiter by pass button would be a great idea if a way of using it properly could be implemented.
or as you say smarter limiters were fitted that took weight into consideration so the same speed could be maintained laden or unladen....work permit granted!0 -
On 3 lane motorways I have no problem with HGV's using lane 2. It's easy to blame them, but the problem is brain dead car drivers not anticipating that cause queues to form.Happy chappy0

I though the limiters did take weight into account, 2500 rpm in top is 60 mph whether the lorry is full or empty0 -
how about taking forigen drivers off our roads. they dont pay road tax, dont follow our strict driving laws like british drivers have to do.

Have you ever driven on the A34 between Winchester and the M4 and M40? Dual carriageway so when a truck decides to overtake you're really stuffed
Every time there is a slight incline the !!!!!!s have to overtake, and boy does it p**s me off!! You can be quite happily toodling along at 70 and a truck driver spots a slight rise in the road and must overtake and it all slows down to 35-40mph. My dad was a HGV driver when they were considered the Knights of the road. Not any more.
Yes I have and for that reason I was about to say what about dual carriageways! No sooner do you get past one pair of lorries on that road you get another pair! I've sat behind a lorry for more than 5 minutes on that road whilst he attempts to overtake another lorry only for him to realise the pointlessness of his attempt and pull back in behind the lorry he was trying to overtake:mad:MBNA [STRIKE]£2,029[/STRIKE] £1,145 Virgin [STRIKE]£8,712[/STRIKE] £7,957 Sainsbury [STRIKE]£6,870[/STRIKE] £5,575 M&S [STRIKE]£10,016[/STRIKE] £9,690 Barclaycard [STRIKE]£11,951[/STRIKE] £11,628 CTC [STRIKE]£7,629[/STRIKE] £6,789 Mortgage £[STRIKE]182,828[/STRIKE] £171,670

Is that not poor observation on your part? if i see a truck in close proximity to a another vehicle, I anticipate a lane change and therefore do not have to brake hard, maybe you should think ahead as to what other actions other road users may use when driving in front of youSo your sitting in lane 3, and your car cuts out loosing all power, you then have to try to get to the hard shoulder, :rotfl:
I see your logic, slow down when approaching two lorries line astern is case of an overtake and stay out of lane three in case of mechanical failure
All seems a bit over cautious to me0 -

Slip stream doesn't do a huge amount to your mileage they did it on myth busters, But it is a good way of conserving fuel to to sit a safe distance from a lorry and pretend your stuck behind it. Rather than getting naffed off at you. I think with the price of petrol nowadays its a valid technique. Just remember to keep that safe gap/0 -

7pm - 7 am they can use lane one and two.
As they are all limited to 56mph i'm not really too bothered about a big snake as it will cut congestion...
Actually it has been proven that if car drivers used proper lane discipline, the effect would be the same as building 800 miles of new motorway.
FWIW, the overtaking bans on the M42 have reduced car journey time by about a minute....0
