Have you ever driven on the A34 between Winchester and the M4 and M40? Dual carriageway so when a truck decides to overtake you're really stuffed
Every time there is a slight incline the !!!!!!s have to overtake, and boy does it p**s me off!! You can be quite happily toodling along at 70 and a truck driver spots a slight rise in the road and must overtake and it all slows down to 35-40mph. My dad was a HGV driver when they were considered the Knights of the road. Not any more.
I agree with Bills sentiment. We talk of truckers being professional etc etc but trucking is now a mainstream job with hundreds of thousands of trucks on the road. With quantity comes the inevitable decline in standards and many truckers leaving it so late that they have to overtake to maintain momentum. They then force their way out into other lanes and cause other vehicles to brake hard for them. The man without a signature.0 -

Quite, how sad must your life have to be to have nothing better to do than sit in the slow lane behind a HGV for mile after mile. Leaves the fast lane free for people who actually have lives though i guess so its not all bad0 -

I think hgvs should be fitted with a button that lets them get up to 60 or 62mph or so for a 10 or 15 second blast for an overtake that they can only use once every few miles so they can overtake quicker and prevent disruption, either that or have the limiters properly calibrated and regulated by gps so that you dont get the situation where one prossiekiller feels he needs to overtake every other one because his limiter is calibrated 0.1mph faster than the other prossiekillers.0

Lane 3 - used by people who have fast cars, are in a hurry, dont give a toss about fuel consumption and have better things to do than sit on a motorway any longer than they have to. Speed should range between 80-90 with good clear conditions.
Dont winge about this being incorrect, it works well :cool:0 -
works for me, may use lane 2 if there is little or no traffic. I used to come back from jobs late at night and do 50 plus miles without leaving the 3rd lane, no real point in changing lanes for the fun of it0

how about taking forigen drivers off our roads. they dont pay road tax, dont follow our strict driving laws like british drivers have to do. topics like this get me so cross, our drivers do a great job, working under very strict conditions and are hated by 99% of other drivers on the road.... how about car drivers have to stick to one lane and let the lorry drivers get on with their jobs.Life is like a box of chocolates........
too much all at once and you start to feel just a little sick...._ _pale_

Is that not poor observation on your part? if i see a truck in close proximity to a another vehicle, I anticipate a lane change and therefore do not have to brake hard, maybe you should think ahead as to what other actions other road users may use when driving in front of youANURADHA KOIRALA ??? go on throw it in google.0
