Our local group seems quite good.
I just posted my first offer on Freecycle and have been inundated with replies.
I was just wondering if anyone has offered anything how did you choose who to give your item to? I am going to give it to a charity but there are at least 10 of those and most are offering to collect. How shall I choose the most deserving recipient?
After being p****d about many times by freecyclers what I do now is the following,
I send out one email to all interested parties and tell them the first person to ring on the number I give to arrange collection can have it.
At first I tried to be fair and go to the first person to contact but I gave up on that a long time ago.
You do get time wasters but there again you do get genuine nice people.
We got rid of a printer a little while back and the chap turned up, in the snow, on a push bike and sent a nice email to me after saying how pleased he was with it. Then it is all worthwhile.0 -

Does anyone remember Chester Drawers, who was Arthur Atkinson's straight man in The Fast Show? Sorry for going OT but clearly a lot of people on Freecyle do0

I'm actually shocked by this one
Hi everyone,
The time has come for me and my girlfriend to buy our 1st house. We are stocking a whole house from fresh. Obviously we are having to buy lots of things to furnish our new place so any spare things anyone has to offer will be gratefully received. We have made a list of things we desperately need so please take a quick look and if you can help us then please get in touch. Some of our requests may seem pretty optimistic but I have come to learn that it is surprising what some people on freecycle have going spare. Thanks in advance!
