LOL I had to laugh at this thread!
I left freecycle after giving away a bag of rather nice girls clothes aged 18-24 months and the bloke picking them up told me the baby was not due for another 6 months! what if it was a boy :rotfl:
I have received some lovely items but given and given as much back in return but in the end just got fed up with the 'regulars' taking the mickey...

    Hi everyone,

The time has come for me and my girlfriend to buy our 1st house. We are stocking a whole house from fresh. Obviously we are having to buy lots of things to furnish our new place so any spare things <snip>

    Thanks for reading!

Oh ooh ooh, me ME!! I have a brand new set of matching towels and you know i've decided I don't want them any more...here, YOU have them!

I already asked for the plasma TV for the babys room, someone offered me a 32inch once but I don't want to go lower than 40 inch really, don't want baby having to squint to see it....

Had this one today, which sounds intriguing:
hi all i am looking for bras of all sizes and styles for a website i am currently building if you have any i would appreciate them thanks and regards peter
  • A little off topic but it does relate to things given away.

I used to work at an airport and we had a large quantity of airline blankets to dispose of. They had all been cleaned, were flame retardant, light weight, warm and individually packed. I called a few charities to see if they could use them one of which was the Red Cross. After a lot of discussion with the Red Cross man he asked for a sample to be posted to him so that he could see what we had to offer and I duly posted him a couple. After a week or so I called to see if he wanted them and he said not really could we make a donation instead. The blankets ended up at the local homeless shelter and a few animal charities.
