"I'm after a little run about car for my wife, she is about to take driving lessons Also we are wanting to go camping and we need the tent two sleeping bags and equipment and lasty childrens clothes toys etc
thanks for your time and hope to hear from someone very soon"
Sometimes I think people want for to much ? - or is it just me getting old ?

Mine isn't too bad and I can't even get rid of my unwanted books on there. However we did recently have a request for a laptop, but with the proviso that it had to be a Mac as the wife didn't like anything else.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I left ours as people asked for too much or too often, and there were many who did not use please or thanks when asking (or even when they had been given stuff!).
Charity or sell, anything big (I am sad to say) will be offered to friends and failing that dumped!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Had a guy on ours looking for hair straighteners for his girlfriend but only if they were GHD because any others were rubbish:eek:
Some one else wanted a dishwasher but it had to less than a year old:eek:.
I've given up on it now0 -
Someone asked for a kiln on ours yesterday....!

Ours doesn't get many wanted ads nowdays but we get more of these than anything else:OFFER Subject BMW 316 1988 E-reg Spares or repairs
Description I want £100 for it if anyone is interested, would rather it go to a good home than scrap but scrappy offered me £100. Too expensive to put through MOT for me. No tax, No MOT and haven't started it for a while, may need towing away.Did you know you can get Viagra software now??? Yeah, it turns your floppy drive into a hard drive0 -
Yep, from ours this afternoon:hi we are looking for the following
gravel
turf
patio set
slabs
wardrobe
double bed and mattress
calor gas fires
felt for shed roof
kids swing set and out door toys
please email if can help thank you
I always get the same 2-3 people replying when I offer things as well. I'm thinking about just asking for their addresses and then we can load the car up and get rid of everything in one go.
TBH though sites like this advertise freecycle as a great way of refitting your house for free so it's not really surprising these people appear on there...:www: :: MFi3 ::

What part of FREEcycle don't they understand?
Our mods must be quite good, we don't tend to get those. We do though get a lot of "everything wanted" type ones.
I still use mine, find it a great way to rid things. Oh that sounds awful, I don't get rid of junk, I tip that, but furniture, electricals etc that we've replaced or whatever.
Never got anything from it though, always feel a bit embarrassed to ask, don't know why. But a friend has got some bits, like a sheet of coloured glass, odd things that don't attract many "askers". She does a lot of crafting and uses the bits and bobs for that.0 -
Ours isn't too bad, you do get people asking for cars, laptops etc that they are obviously not going to get offered, but you just have to ignore them. I have given stuff to wanted posts, not high value stuff but things that aren't worth selling and you'd forgotten they are in the back of your wardrobe until someone asks. I think it's a shame that some people abuse it, which puts people off, as generally it's a really good idea.0

Yes I agree freecycle it is a great idea
- if you take half decent stuff to the rubbish dump - sorry recycling plant ! the chaps there put stuff aside to sell or whatever anyway
-theres allways the attitude "dont ask - dont get" - fine line I guess "chancing your arm" to being a cheeky g!t !As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !0
