We have a lovely corner sofa. It is very large, and wouldn't fit it into most people's homes. we had it at our last rented accommodation, we bought it, and rather than leave it for nasty landlord, we brought it to our new home with us. I tried to sell it when we first moved in, and DH even suggested I put it on Freecycle and let someone have it! It is worth £500, and still in very good condition!0

Known on local groups, as HOOVER UPPERS! and are despised by most group owners, mods & members. I have found furniture more difficult to shift, even free leather suites! people want photographs dimensions and free delivery (and i don't even drive!)If google doesn't know it, how should i?0

If space will allow please send to charity. The only people that collect furniture on our groups, are the traders! The 'desperate' ones can never collect - if i was that broke i wouldn't be on the net. I have hired a man & van in the past to find a sofa too large for our lounge and had to re-offer!! arrghhIf google doesn't know it, how should i?0 -
sack the moderators ! - why would they allow this ?
bag of ladies clothes - take your pick - 5 items, £10 - cheaper than a charity shop and freshly
laundered!
thanks for looking!
and now this
Small white bedroom / dressing table chair with original red velvet cushion. Much loved but am
trying to create my perfect room and so the space is greatly required, hence the sale. very similar
to this one: http://www.lloydloom.com/products/range/Belvoir/17 (copy and paste link as i am new to
this technical stuff!)
Really appreciate your time; please contact me for early collection as i would like it gone asap.
Kind thanks
Im going to email them now explaining that this is Freegle ..... FREEgle ...FREE
the clue is in the name of the service for gods sake !As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !0 -

There is charities in most areas that help those in need to get furniture i would find your local one and donate it to them.0 -
Damm shame i'm not closer I'm in Jam/jelly making mode at present.
I don't know if figs are suitable for jam at all? My dad used to make wine from them. I like chutney, I wonder if i can make that? I may wander over the the old style board and ask.
We usually expect to get around 24kg of good usable figs a year which is a shame as I can find no one that likes them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. OO, I love chutney.
Freecycles loss may well be my gain then!
Maybe I should also not be so lazy and do a google search for a recipe :rotfl:trouble is it must be idiot proof, my kitchen skills are rather basic.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Fig jam recipe (from my neighbour)
Ingredients
1.5kg Figs
750g Jam sugar (with pectin)
Method- Look over the figs and discard any that look at all mouldy. Cut off the stems and place them in a large saucepan. Squash the figs with a potato masher or your hands, breaking them into a lumpy paste.
- It may look as though there won’t be enough liquid, but don’t worry – there will be plenty. Put the pan on a low heat and pour in the sugar; stir and let the sugar dissolve. After a few minutes, turn up the heat and bring to a boil; cook for 6–9 minutes, stirring occasionally until thick.
- Heat the jam to 105°C or until a blob of it sets on a chilled teaspoon – if it runs off, boil the jam for a little longer. Remove from the heat and ladle into 4–5 sterilised 350ml jars. Leave a space at the top, put a wax disc over the jam while still hot and cover with the lid. Once cooled, the jam will keep for up to 6 months, though do refrigerate it once opened.
The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.0
