I posted a wanted on freecycle for a strimmer, when i first moved in to my house with a garden.

Then i ended up popping in to B&Q and seen you can buy them for £10 i was so embarrased i have never been back on freecycle.

Now reading this, and the ridiculous wanted posts i just think to maybe i was a little harsh with myself lol

There was one guy in the Hertfordshire area, who constantly posted on Freecycle, asking for things to furnish his empty house with. Shelves, tables, chairs, beds, curtains, etc.

I meant to email him and ask if he ever completed his house wholly through Freecycle.

OFFERED - Invitation to a BYO Barbeque for *********** area Freecyclers

If you live in the *********** area, you (and partner) are invited to a BYO
Barbeque at 11.30 on Saturday 21 August in ******* being held by XX XXXX group.

Obviously we have to limit numbers, so if you would like to come please reply
with your full address and postcode as we will allocate strictly by those
nearest in distance from the venue and replying before Tuesday 17th.

BYO barbeque = bring a dish to share, plus your own BBQ food, drink, plate,
    cutlery and glass.

I know it's ungrateful but I'd be worried that now someone has my full address and when I'm going to be out :(

Right i've had it up to here with freecycle, landfill here I come.

Something went last week to a dealer, I offered what I had and when it was collected dealer asked about another part for this item and I told him that I hadn't offered that. In fact the extra part was valuable and had a resale value, the item I offered was perfectly OK for parts or for repair as it was.

The add on part was sold on ebay by me, but meanwhile i have now started to get emails and texts from the dealer saying he really needs to extra add on bit as otherwise the thing he collected was useless. basically I assume he has repaied it and wants to sell it on or else he has dumped the item and wants the add on for sale. I don't know how to block his texts and frankly I am getting tired of this.

The item i offered was exactly as I described it, and had alot of use still in it. The part he wants is an extra and has value and was not included in the offer but he will not go away.

Soolin have you reported him to the Freecycle Moderators to see if they ban him. I know most Freecycle moderators are as useful as a Chocolate fire-guard (at least ours are) but worth a try.

I would personally reply to him and state you sold the other part which wasn't offered on Freecycle and you got £X for it (I would double the price) that will Piss him off.:D

How were you to know he was going to Harrass you by email? That just reinforces my opinion of Freecycle/Freegle moderators. Freecycle is a great idea that is now being ruined by idiots and moderators who refuse to reinforce the Terms and conditions of Freecycle. It's turning into a bit of a joke making people go back to dumping stuff because it's just not worth the hassle.
