    Having a freecycle/freegle down day

I offered some things over the weekend - the one lot I have had a lot of responses, admittedly I haven't had a chance to do anything about it - but today I got a 'lovely' email demanding to know if they got my previous email

I have also offered something worth over £100 (baby equipment) and whilst I don't want sob stories I also don't just want 'I want it' It is a good piece of kit I want it to be used for what it is designed. I have tried to sell it a couple of times on ebay but with no luck - I think I will slash the price to a fiver and stick it back on, at least that way I know it will be used for what it is designed for. Maybe I am being at bit precious at something I am giving away for free but it just seems people want it for the sake of it

Best bet, stick it on eBay on a fiver BIN and it will go like lightening. I tried to give away an exercise bike. 2 no shows to collect and I'd had enough so I did just that.

Sold and collected within an hour. Perfect!

Who would think that the child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was on Freecycle?

I've dropped the price by 50% on a 5day listing - if no joy I will do a BIN, to make money back would be nice but seeing I was up for giving it away I am not overly bothered

I am just desperate to clear stuff from the house, it is bursting at the seams
  • On my local one today:

I'm desperate for a HDTV from a minimum size of 32". Please help. Thanks very much

  • Would like to know if anyone is getting rid of a tv stand as we need one just till we get one for new tv. its a 42" ld so would have to be large enough for this to sit on. If you could send a pic with reply it would be really appreciated. Many thanks.smile.gif

hmmm - so you can afford a 42" tv but not a stand?
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
  • I hadn't used Freecycle for a while but had two things to offer so put them on at the weekend. I immediately had lots of emails asking for them, picked two... and got two no-shows. Grrr!

I am having a break from posting offers after having a load of no-shows. So, instead I have been responding to wanted messages instead. All the items I have offered have been in excellent condition etc. I have even gone to get things out of top cupboards to get the model name/number for the person. I haven't had one reply. I'm okay with the person not wanting it, but can they not even say, "thanks, but no thanks". One of the people who never replied has posted more wanteds, but I don't feel inclined to see if I have anything she needs.
    GRRRRR!!

Have seen some rather over optimistic requests on ours too :rotfl:
I have been looking for a bigger aquarium for a while as some of my fish have forgotten to stop growing. One came up yesterday and I made my first ever request and got it :j
Never actually thought of asking for one though.

............wonders if anyone has a cabinet and an external filter they don't need :p

    :T

No harm in making a humorous request. I gave my small tank and equipment to a fellow Freegler. She was delighted as she thought it was just the tank she was getting :D

One member offered 3 caravans last week.
    I'm not that way reclined

Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!
  • Hi

My wife and I are also becoming more than a little disillusioned with freecycle / freegle too!

If there are any EX freecycle or freegle mods who'd like to make contact by PM please do so.
