Thought you'd like to know how the watch reseller ended....

My post was removed from Freegle and I was put on moderation LMAO. Apparently you have no right to expect that you receive an actual response to your messages from the mods, nor should you expect to be told that they are dealing with it (Which they weren't until I posted it into Freegle itself when they HAD to deal with it)

I was basically told that I should be grateful for the use of a free site :D

Anyway, upshot is, I wouldn't use Potteries Freegle now if it were offering £10 notes. Anything I have from now on in will either go to the tip or the charity shop. I have removed my membership to both Freegle and the cafe site.

As for the watch reseller, he's also on 'moderation'.
  • ohhh pulliptears freegle mods do make me laugh sometimes. Just like the admin of some facebook groups (but thats another story).

At least you feel better for it :-)
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

    I do actually :D
Douglas McMillan have opened a nice new charity shop just down the road from me, I suspect they are about to have a bit of a windfall from my loft.

To be honest after I posted I had about half a dozen emails from people off group telling me that reselling in the Potteries Freegle was rife and that it was going through eBay, Gumtree and local carboots. They also said they had contacted mods with no reply whatsoever.

My advice to anyone using that particular group is dont, donate it to charity!
  • I have reported that watch guy before and had no response so I don't post on there anymore either. I always expect the odd chancer on there to be sellingstuff on but this guy is running a business from it and that just takes the mick, hope the taxman has him.

As I said, lots of emails from people who have also reported resellers with no action whatsoever, so I'm not surprised at all.

    Having a freecycle/freegle down day

I offered some things over the weekend - the one lot I have had a lot of responses, admittedly I haven't had a chance to do anything about it - but today I got a 'lovely' email demanding to know if they got my previous email

I have also offered something worth over £100 (baby equipment) and whilst I don't want sob stories I also don't just want 'I want it' It is a good piece of kit I want it to be used for what it is designed. I have tried to sell it a couple of times on ebay but with no luck - I think I will slash the price to a fiver and stick it back on, at least that way I know it will be used for what it is designed for. Maybe I am being at bit precious at something I am giving away for free but it just seems people want it for the sake of it
