I don't really buy into the whole 'first response gets it' or 'I want it gone by this afternoon' thing.
I like to give 24 hours, and I like to know a bit about the person and why they want the item.
Sod's law says that as soon as I offer it to someone, I'll get an email from someone who sounds like they need it more.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
my Freegle is a good one generally as we don't get too many wanteds for crazy things. I've given alot of stuff on there (sofa, coffee maker, old P.C bits, roof felt etc etc) that I couldn't sell on Ebay or give to a charity shop and in return I've had some great stuff back like a virtually new Wesco recycling bin (advertised as 'recycling bin') they sell for £80! I've also had lily bulbs, an Edwardian door which the lady delivered for me and a pasting table for a car boot sale I did, so it does work in the manner it was intended only now I delete any rude emails and leave it a day or 2 so that everyone gets a fair chance other than those who ask for everything but give nothing!0

nobody here is disputing that, they are merely sharing the more outlandish/cheeky/greedy/bizarre requests.0 -

Earlier on in the thread, people were saying how they are leaving cos people are asking for thingsBeen away but now i am back!0 -
I've asked for a couple of things in the past, and been very lucky to get them.
One was a bit of larger skirting board when I ran out, only needed about a foot. Another was a hob bit thingy that goes over my gas cooker that isn't manufactured any more.
Maybe I need to ask for one of those fancy big tvs now, after all it's all 3d now, so there're bound to be some being chucked out!0 -
i agree with you ootie, maybe we should list our demands now!!!Been away but now i am back!0
