To be antagonistic I feel ;)

all i was saying it, apart from the cheeky bleeders, a lot of people ask cos "if you dont ask you dont get" obviously ppl asking for 40 inch tellys wont get it and will be ignored so its a wasted effort. a lot of people actually need stuff. i dont understand why ppl are saying they want to leave the site cos ppl are asking for things

Aaaarrrrrgh!!! But that just reminded me of this one which was posted on our group back in January.
    OFFERED - PANTS

Lots of pairs of mens Y fronts and boxer shorts, variable condition - most of the boxer shorts look sound. If interested please make sure you REMOVE Freecycle from the subject line or it will just go to junk.
It was the "variable condition"...the mind boggles.

I asked for a bath (any colour or style) as ours cracked one day and I really needed one.(no shower here).
I had 3 emails from people saying they had a spare.brand new one in their garage and I was lucky enough to have a choice.
I'm still bemused as to why you would keep a spare new one in the garage but very grateful :)
Every day above ground is a good one ;)

fab - people are always giving away bathroom suites on ours.

ACTUALLLLYYYYYY we used to have a spare bathroom suite in our attic at the old house. looks like the landlord put it up there on the intention of plumming it in (cauase it was all arranged/ fixed etc) and turning attic into a bedroom with ensuite. He never did do and up there getting dusty it just sat.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

I think it's because the site just gets clogged up with stupid wanted ads. My local Freecycle groups sends out about 80-100 messages a day. Going through all those to find the genuine ads just gets annoying. Plus it gives you a very jaundiced view of the people who are members of Freecycle. You get to the point when you start to wonder if there are any decent people on there.

Because a lot of people take the !!!! and ask for their house to be refurnished. You have to wade through pages of these adds to find the genuine ones . Also normally its the same people over and over again. And when some people actually want your items they never turn up.

The whole point of Freecycle is its meant to be a way of giving things away that could go to landfill. Its not meant to be request an item time.
