  • This 500mb limit is a joke.

I got a new Android phone last Wednesday, so far on average I have used 40mb per day, and I haven't downloaded any MP3 or watched any Youtube videos!!

At this rate, I will use up the 500mb limit in 10 days!!!!!

This is the problem really. We are hardly greedy abusers downloading stuff for the sake of it like the people who get through 500gb a month on a broadband connection.

I always go over and I only use my phone for web browsing - I dont stream much if at all!

A week since I sent my letter. Still no reply.
  • My problem is I was in hospital From June to Aug, so my usage was almost nothing for these months. I provided vodafail with proof of this so their reply was since I was in hospital during August they are taking my previous 3 months into consideration! Great, well done voda, that really helps taking into consideration the previous 2 months I spent in hospital too!

I am planning on buying the Desire HD when it is finally released so will probably be using far more data than I do at the moment (with my useless Nokia N97) and refuse to pay for it! I will keep fighting voda on this one (being off work still, i have plenty of free time).

Since coming off Vodafone, where are you people migrating your tarriffs since almost no one is offering any decent data plans ?

    Any pointers will be appreciated.

  • Have a look at giffgaff. They offer truly unlimited internet and very good prices, I have read of a few people having problems getting setup and porting their number but even if you are unlucky enough to have problems it should be sorted in a few days then all good from then on (from what Ive read). Im planing on moving to them once I escape vodafail.

spot on mate - I'm with Giffgaff now - no problems, at least halved my monthly bill, and no worrying about how much data I'm using.

i have switched to giffgaff. had a few problems with their card payment system and had to use a shop bought top up voucher (can use ether GiggGaff or O2) to register my SIM and that was me up and running. Had to contact an agent (online customer services), took a couple of days (over a weekend) to fix the problem and now all is good!

I don't think the network is quite as good as Vodafone around these parts tho so i do have to admit there are a few times i have been disappointed with only 2.5G where before i would have had a perfect 3.5G signal. That being said, i spend a lot of time in out in the middle of nowhere and have had 2.5G more often that 2G - i don't think i ever picked up an 2.5G signal on Vodafone. So some good bits, some bad bits.

  • Very happy with giffgaff.

I guess the network coverage issue all depends on where you live. From using all of the networks, I have found o2 and Vodafone to have the best coverage in Norfolk, but alas, o2 has pretty dire 3G coverage. But I can live with that, as I'm now saving £25/m.

So when do I call Vodafone to find out why they have ignored my recorded delivery letter? And who is best to call, I doubt customer services are going to know much?

They signed for my letter a week ago.
