And so we reach the end of the second working week since I sent them my notice of termination..
  • Well Vodafone are still insisting I owe them well over £400 after using the pack code supplied to me by Andrew Austin who told me I could leave early without paying an early termination fee.

    Useless

At last, a response from the directors office.

Telling me to go away and that I should have told them before the 1st October.

Even though you could not do anything until you were notified, and that I was notified on 30th September?!

Well i was notified, called them up, but they did not say i could cancel, now i have notified them i wish to cancel they say i'm too late. Given that they are supposed to inform you of the changes AND tell you 'of the ability to terminate the contract without penalty if the proposed modification is not acceptable to you', then they have failed to keep to the rules..

Foxtbh, again they failed to keep to the rules because they failed to give you a months notice of the changes. If they think one announcement hidden on the eforum constitutes a proper announcement then i think they are very much mistaken.
  • Well im not sure what to do now. I rang Vodafone ans they said that they have a record of Andrew ringing me on the 24/9/10 but that it doesnt mention I could cancel without paying an early termination fee!!! Just one of the other deals he offered me.

So what do I do now? They are insisting I have to pay them £430.

How can they possibly dispute it, neonplanet? They have increased the charges, therefore... I just dont get this. How on earth can some people cancel yet others cannot? They've either increased the charges or they have not, either everyone can cancel or nobody can.
  • They told me I could cancel mate. Was rang on the 24th of sep by andrew just liek some of the others. I took my pac code that he supplied me and am now with o2. But vodafone now say I have to pay an early termination fee!! and that there is no notes from andrew saying that I would not have to pay it! Useless company. Seriously.
  • I got a rather nice surprise through the post on Saturday morning!
Finally received a letter telling me that I can cancel my contract without penalty and retain my handset, complete with pac code! Took a lot of chasing up to finally get it though and a heck loads of stress too!

I really feel for you guys which have been left behind and given quite frankly AWFUL treatment and reasons why you are unable to cancel! This saga has to be the worst dealings I've ever had with a company!

Hopefully Otelo will see things from the consumer point of view!

I just got home to find a letter from Vodafone, dated 4th October but received today, informing me that they have decided I can cancel and retain the equipment.

Quite what the unhelpful intervention from the Directors Office was I've no idea. I suspect they received my email chasing my letter, didnt bother to check for the letter and sent a generic reply.
