I have been reading the thread, and contacted Vodafone as I was not informed of the T&C change. The response was that it dose on affect me! but, if I was told that the contract I have has unlimited data with FUP, then the T&C change would affect me?
Is this correct or have I got the wrong end of the stick? BTW I have a HD2.
It depends on your data usage ultimately... if you use over 500mb then the likelyhood is you'll get billed £5 for every additional 500mb.
Vodafone would like you to believe that if you don't use 500mb for 3 consecutive months and cancel before 1st October then you're screwed but the truth of the matter is as soon as they bill you the additional charges they're in breach of contract and you have a period of 28 days in which you can cancel free of charge.
I'd play the waiting game and see what happens.0 -
Question here to anyone thats been allowed to cancel without early termination charges.
Its for a different reason that there letting me out of a 2 year contract early. after 6 months. I emailed ceo office with my complaint, they tried to contact me, couldn't get hold of me, then sent following email.
Dear Mr. **********
Thank you for email to Guy Laurence regarding your ongoing problems with
the Signal in your area.
Guy has asked me to look into this for you and respond back to you with
my findings.
I have tried to call you twice today at 2.25pm on mobile number
*********** and unfortunately the call kept being cut so I have chosen
to respond via email.
I have had a good look at the coverage in your area and this is very
poor on both 2g and 3g. I have looked to see if there are any planned
sites in the near future and unfortunately, there isn't anything planned
for your area.
As the Sure Signal doesn't appear to be giving you the service in your
house, I have spoken with my manager about your ongoing issue and we
believe it's only fair to release you from the contract with no early
termination fee due to the poor service.
If you wish to speak to me about this, please call me on the number
below.
Kind regards
********
I did ring back because i thought they would want handset back, but during our conversation i was told i should try another companys sim into my handset and if it was locked, contact her back and they would unlock it.
So it seems i would be able to keep handset.
But i dont have that specifically written down anywhere.
I know with some of your experiences they have been known to go back on their word.
Do you think i am safe to now to use pac they have sent me and swap to a Tmobile sim only deal without them coming back and asking for the handset back?
Sorry to hijack this thread, but as i said some of you have had your contracts terminated on here.0 -

Hi
I thought my contract with vodafone had ended when i used my pac codes provided by them due to change of t and c
I had two phones on the same account number and was ASSURED BY ANDREW THAT I COULD CANCEL WITHOUT PENALTY(he promised to email me , he even read out my email address to me while on the phone, and never sent the conformation email
Today i have received a bill for early termination of one of the numbers and not the other
they want 153 pounds
This is very distressing for me being told one thing and then getting this bill so near christmas0 -
Can anyone help me, Vodafone are saying that I cannot cancel as they are only using Augusts usage, I have used over 500mb in previous month
Has anyone else had this?0 -
When you receive confirmation that you can leave FOC is it best to cancel Direct Debit straight away? I see lots of stories about Vodafone going back on their word. I have confirmation in email about there being no charges.0
-
If you are sensible you will cancel your direct debit! Had I not Vodafone were happily going to take £430 out of my account.
So yes cancel it. If you have any remaining charges you can do them over the phone or by cheque.0 -

Cheers for that0 -
We are now well into November, and the charges for out of bundle data use that kicked in last month will now be applied to peoples' bills.
Has anyone here been charged? Although I am aware Vodafone can technically now charge (well, dubiously as their notice of a change in pricing I feel has not been given appropriately), I am not aware of anyone who has actually had a fee imposed on their bill.
It would be interesting to know, and it would be even more interesting to know if a person who has been charged then gets told to go away by Vodafone then they take it to Otelo and win. Voda's argument with Otelo is you cannot go to them as they have made this charging decision on a commercial basis, Otelo confirm you cannot challenge commercial decisions; if you are charged though I get the impression this is no longer a commercial decision.
Keep up the fight folks, I am happily with another provider having left Vodafone just over two months ago.0 -
I have put in my complaint to Otelo and it has been accepted, but been informed it may take 8-10 weeks for an outcome as they have a lot of cases at trhe moment. I called 191 to find out my data usage for October (as I havent received a bill yet) and was told it was 938Mb. I asked if I was being charged £5 for the extra usage and the woman says "no, i dont know why that hasnt been added".
Edit: Just checked my bill online and I had used 513Mb of data and WAS charged for it!!0
